Aren't you glad the Iowa Events Center is finally there? I know the NCAA would ever have selected the old Vets Auditorium and who knows about Hilton. Good for you. I will be at the Iowa Events Center on October 27 for a concert.

I think it's a great thing. They're supposed to have an open house for the public this coming Tuesday (I think) and I'm anxious to see what the place looks like.

Ames will never host an NCAA basketball event under the current format (8 teams per site) again because of a lack of adequate hotel space in town and Veterans Auditorium was just too small and too old. This will be only the first of many fun sporting events to come to Des Moines in this facility. :D
