is playing in the same festival as the u19 women's basketball......

The Americans had to play Australia twice yesterday in a rematch of last summer's Olympic gold-medal game, and they left little doubt about who's better. Both games ended early because of the seven-rule mercy rule.

The Americans won 7-0 in five innings in pool play, then won 8-1 in the afternoon semifinals to advance to today's grand final at 3 p.m. They'll play the winner of the noon elimination game between Australia and Canada.

Jenny Finch pitched yesterday, and left-hander Cat Osterman is the scheduled starter today. The Texas star has yet to pitch in this tournament after a heavy load of innings in the recent College World Series.

Today's game...9-0 in 5 innings.

"Cat Osterman (Houston, Texas) picked up the win allowing only one hit while striking out 10 in five innings of work."

Cat was ready and so were the USA bats.
