Here's a warm hello to all of the visitors to our HoopScoop site. It's approximately 9pm CST on Monday evening (4/18/05) and the register is showing that 51 people are present active viewers on the site. Only 5 of us are 'members', while we have 46 visitors!

Thanks for stopping by to visit, and please come back often. We're a pretty collegial group. We don't bite. We learn much from each other. And the more knowledgeable members we have, all the better. So maybe it's time for you visitors to officially join us by becoming a member as well!

I've noticed that some of the "guests" are actually bots......google, msn, yahoo that index the internet. I noticed three months ago, there sure was a lot of attention from New York and California, but then I found out what bots were.

So sometimes when the user on line list looks skewed, it just might be a lot of bots with noting better to do ;)

I do appreciate those that register and post. I also hope that when one registers, they put what state they are from.......and maybe the team they root for....but that's just a personal preference of mine.

Okay ya talked me into it. I've been browsing here for a couple of weeks and have really enjoyed the obviously knowledgeable posts concerning Big 12 WBB. I'm just a first year fan this year having bought Lady Bear Season tickets but thoroughly enjoyed the entire year and the conferance on the whole.

Thanks for the info, swok! At first I thought my eyes were deceiving me last night when I saw those numbers . . . but I checked again and decided that I didn't need to get in for an emergency vision check-up after all!

Kenny1006, great to have you aboard!

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking here for a while and your post basically convinced me to join in. I am not a basketball player, but over the last couple of years I have really gotten attached to college wbb. Maybe this is because more Canadians play. :) As you can see I am Canadian, so therefore I cheer for teams with Canadian players and not a school in particular. Was cheering for Texas and Nebraska ( must add that Nebraska is probably my favorite University however, they really have a great Canadian connection in almost every sport). So, basically looking forward to the new basketball season and getting to know all of you.

Keep up the great work, this is a great message board. :)

Guess I'll put a Nebraska icon for now.

Thanks for becoming 'official', ringster! Am not sure if we have other Canadians as members, but I'm sure we can learn a lot from your insight and comments. Welcome aboard!

Hello BearLady,

I will warn you now that I don't know a whole lot about basketball, however if you ever want info on a Canadian player I am sure I can find it.

Welcome Ringster.
I remember a certain Canadian player that certainly made her presence known in Oklahoma. I'm sure OU wouldn't mind seeing one (almost) just like her. :)

Welcome Kenny! Glad you decided to sign up.

Thank you all for a warm welcome. That certainly makes one feel inclined to wanna get in here and mix it up.

As I said this is just my first year really into watching the girls play. I loved it and must thank the owners of the NHL for locking out the season and thus forcing me to search for a new sports fix. Not so sure I can ever give hockey the same look now. I have watched more women's basketball this year than in a lifetime and find myself dissappointed that I just now found it on a permanent basis. I'm hooked for good! It was about 1983 when I first witnessed a couple of games(UT at the Erwin Center) and though I enjoyed those; I never got caught up int as now.

What a difference this year made. Of course watching the champs in their season for my first was rather lucky on my part but oh so pleasurable. I went to the parade here Monday and its really great the way Waco has taken to the ladies. Of course the lady bears are my girls ,but along the season others in the Big 12 certainly captured my admiration. Oneil and Robinette of :isu:, Wecker and Koehn of :ksu: Grant and Robertson of :ttu:, Jackson and Schrieber of :ut: come to mind first thought their were certainly others.

Again thank you all for the kind welcome and I look forward to new friends and friendly discussions here.

Traffic on this board slows significantly after the NCAA basketball season. Don't let that dissuade you from participating. There are some diehards who post and read the board throughout the year. Main thing is to come back in October 2005 as we get ready for the new season. Make sure you remember your user name and password....always a problem for me.

Welcome to you Kenny1006 and Ringster, and welcome to all the others that I missed welcoming during the year. We all have different interests, skills and personalities on the board. The mix makes for a good community. Your input will add to it and make the board better.

Some of our fans are treasures because they are rare. Once upon a time I was the only K-State fan on the board. Now I have lots of help. :) We have not had representation for some teams until the last couple of years. OSU and KU were two teams for whom we were glad to see fans join the board. If I am missing someone I am sorry but I don't remember any Texas A & M Aggies. If you are out there we need you. GO BIG 12 and GO WCBB!

That's what I thought but I chickened out. You can get in trouble for mistaking someone's gender these days. ;)

I never lurked before I joined. I just didn't know the board was here, but now that I've found it, I will be here often, at least until the new :cu: coach is hired and we get to discuss the pros and cons. :p

Summer can be quiet as far as basketball goes, but I will check the board and be active once the season is upon us in the fall.
