This game was a lot closer than the score indicates....OU could get a 10 point lead, then an SMU player would plink in a 3..at least that's how the first half went. Up until the final 4 or 5 minutes of the game, SMU was within 7/8 points, I think their foul troubles caught up with them and Caufield was flawless from the FT line....10 of 10. Stacey Dales was 6 of 12. Di Jackson couldn't buy a free throw last night....1 of 8; and Caton was 1 of 4 which is way out of character for her. Caton also picked up 2 fouls in the first half and sat the balance of it. I really think OU is giving Caton Hill the "Ruth Riley" treatment, in that, Ruth was told if she drew 2 fouls, she would be sitting the rest of the half.....it worked for Ruth and her foul troubles.

Laneisha Caufield was absolutely awesome in the 2nd half offensively.......she was hitting incredible shots. Stacey Dales played really well last night. Rosalind Ross wasn't hitting shots but she pulled down 8 rebounds...."action" jackson pulled down 6 boards.

I really like SMU's post player....Kaci Alexander 6'-4, really like the way she plays. SMU has a pretty good defensive team, I was impressed with their team. The attendance figure says 2102, at least half or better were OU fans. Laneisha had her own little basketball team fan section, think it was a team that came to Norman for team camp this past summer.....

The officiating was just plain bad on both sides.....
never seen so many calls get reversed in a game.

Also saw a Detroit Shock scout, hmmmmm, wouldn't it be neat to see Stacey on the same team as Edwina?

It would be great to see Stacy Dales and Edwina Brown on the same team! Stacy Dales and Edwina Brown have never had anything but the highest praise for each other. I think I might still rather see Edwina Brown get out of Detroit but I don't really see that happening this year.

I did make it over to the game and it was closer than the final score indicated. I know SMU is young, but they definately gave it a shot and stayed close. Dales and Caufield were awesome last night, they just know each other so well and make those nice cuts to the basket look so easy. Dales made some sweet passes I'm hear to tell ya!

Good game, glad to see them look much beter than against Purdue. I still think they're the team to beat in the conference this year. The key to beating them will be to get Dales and Caufied fouled out of the game. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I was there as well. Couldn't believe that pathetic FT shooting, other than Caufield and Talbert. I loved some of those sweet passes and cuts that Caufield, Dales, and Ross did.
Some HS coaches sitting behind me were singing Dales' praises.

I was listening to the SMU postgame show and their comments were that they didn't think OU could make a Final 4 run w/ basically a "4 man show". Of course, they were looking at the 4 who scored in double figures, and maybe didn't know that Caton usually scores more than the 6 or so she had last night. Still, they questioned OU's depth, especially inside.
I sure would like to see more scoring from the bench!!

Though Jackson didn't have what I call one of her better games, what did you all think of her?......
Her vision is incredible sometimes, though she is this close () to making an absolutely mindboggling assist.

I did see some assists last night that were absolutely incredible, even from Jamie Talbert playing at the high post.

I look forward to seeing her play the next 4 years. She is a quick one. In fact, though this team is small, they have tons of speed!!! I really liked the different defenses OU threw at SMU.
