While OSU and possibly A & M try to scrape together another couple of wins to possibly get an NCAA bid, I've wondered whether it's really better to be a very low seed in the NCAA's instead of just playing in the WNIT. Chances are good you'll get knocked out in the first, or certainly in the second round of the NCAA. But a team like OSU, for instance, has a very real chance to win the WNIT -- or at least to play in the championship game. That can carry over some real momentum into the next year, not to mention you get to play more games. If you're a player, what do you prefer? The answer's not obvious to me.

Can't speak for a player, but given OSU's special circumstances, I would think they would prefer to go to the Big Dance. Agree though that they could do some real damage in the WNIT, especially if they get some home games.........which.....is not too likely given their poor home attendance.

I think they hosted either 1 or 2 last year in the WNIT's, and decided they would rather go to Hawaii rather than put a bid in for the next game........
