My roomie and I are planning on going to the Final Four, assuming we can secure our ticket with the Baylor Bear Foundation. Any one else making plans?

I'll be there. We definitely have to find a place for a get together.
Ah, I'm not jellous or anything Bro. ;)
Have FUN.

Well I hope you all have fun in Indy and cheer loud for me!
I would have gone to the Final Four and stayed with a friend of mine who plays for the Colts, but ISU didn't get past the first round(I didn't expect them to get past Stanford).
HAVE FUN AND GO BEARS!

All of you Lady Bear fans who are going to Indy, have fun and enjoy the ride. I am purple with envy!
As for me, I will be in front of my tv set trying to imitate the Bear Claw thing and waving a green and gold pom pom that Zo gave me at the Big 12 tourney.
Go Bears. :bu:

We, actually, have gone the last three years regardless of who was playing, but this year, these ol' BU grads will be decked out in green 'n' gold in Indy! Count us in for any gathering!

Since some of us have tossed around private messages, I'll go ahead and say that we do want to get together some time in Indy. Let's start posting our ticket/travel plans when we make them so that we can figure out when/where to meet.

If I had the money to make the trip, I'd certainly go. But not this year.
Hey, I bet that there are a lot of Final Four tickets going up for sale on eBay right now - from the multitudes of UConn fans who bought theirs via the lottery! Check it out if you'd like to go. You can yell for Baylor in the nosebleed section!
No kidding, UConn's absence is guaranteed to make these Final Four tickets among the easiest to get of any since 1999. (That's the year that, you might remember, Iowa State knocked UConn out in the Sweet 16.) UConn fans invariably buy up thousands of tickets in advance, and it is safe to say that most of them will not be very eager to make use of them this year.

Arg! I have been trying all morning to contact the Baylor ticket office. I have had everything from busy signals to "all circuits are busy" to bizarre rings. When I DO make it through to someone, they tell me that the phone system has already crashed 3 times this morning due to the load. As the kind lady is taking my personal information, the phone system died yet again! I'm still waiting for it to get back online! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Did you call the 1-800 number or the local number? I got in after 3 rings on the local number (710-1000) and everything went smoothly. Hope you can get in soon.

Well, I finally got through. I was trying the local number but the phone system was so overwhelmed that the system was having difficulty handling the load.
All the Baylor ticket office told me is that my tickets are WILL HOLD, so I don't know any seating info. Next step: hotels!

Spooky and Bro, I had pretty much the same experience. But I finally just got through on the local line and now have 2 tickets to the FINAL FOUR! YES!

The Bear foundation is taking names for a chartered flight (plus hotel). No details yet available (i.e. price, times, hotel). Telephone 254-710-2582. However that line has also gone ba-looy, so I drove to their office this morning. Tickets to the game are being handled separately through the ticket office; 254-710-1000; all will be picked up in Indy. Actual seats will be assigned on a priority basis -- better renew your Bear Foundation membership.

Well, my plans have begun to finalize. My roommate and I will be driving to Indy. We are leaving Saturday afternoon, stopping when we can't drive any more (Little Rock, maybe?) and finishing the journey the next day. We will be staying north of the stadium on I465. We plan to stay for the duration of the tournament, regardless of the outcome. We will depart on Wednesday morning.
If anyone has suggestions for meeting times/locations, let me know. If you prefer to not exchange some information on the forum, feel free to PM me as well. I hope that we are able to have a nice little mini-HoopScoop Convention at Indy and can cheer on the Bears to make the Big 12 proud!

This is a fact I was unaware of. So are they taking names and then comparing it against the BBF list or what?

For you who are attending your very first Final Four: you're going to LOVE it! I hope that you'll stay for the entire tournament regardless of the outcome of the semi-finals because the atmosphere of the Final Four is simply awesome - before, during and after the games. For three days you are surrounded by thousands of true basketball fans from all over the country, many of whom do not have a team in the tourney. But they love basketball and they just want to be there anyway because they love the teams who are in it and because they appreciate their achievements. I would give anything to be able to join you! But I'll be there in spirit, and I'll be glued to the tv.
Have fun, guys! You are the envy of the Big 12 because you get to go. And the Lady Bears are our shining stars.
I agree, there is nothing like the incredible excitement and atmosphere of the Final Four. And I can only imagine what it must be like to watch your own team playing. I was hyperventilating just cheering on SMS (in 2001) and Oklahoma (in 2002). If Iowa State were there I might have needed a supplementary oxygen supply.
And DON'T MISS the WBCA All-Star game. It is like watching the ultimate street-ball pick-up game (in 2002 and 2004, with the U.S. National Team in the mix!).

NewBearFan2002 and I arrived in Waco around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday after our return drive from Tempe. It was a LONG drive, but entirely worth the trip. We ordered tickets for Indy as we drove across Arizona this morning, and if we can't find flights at a reasonable price, we'll be back in the car this weekend in order to cheer on our Lady Bears!

It has long been Baylor's policy to allocate seats according to Baylor Foundation points. The best seats will go to the biggest donors. I'm sure everyone ordering tickets will get them. However, the better seats will go to donors according to amounts donated.

Fine by me. I've paid my dues and any seat in RCA Dome is better than the 27" box in my living room :)

BroLewis,
Certainly better live and in person than watching on a 27" TV. Better on television than sitting in a loud, smokey internet cafe struggling to hear the internet audio at 1:30 in the morning. Woe, woe is me.
Enjoy the trip. With the Big 12 tournament and NCAA tourneys, I've begged for roving reports. SWOK did admirably in Kansas City. My K-State friend Marlene gave me the details from Seattle. Maybe someone can weigh in from Indianapolis?
Baylor fans (and Big 12 fans), it is worth asking the BU athletic department if any type of pep rally or fan / team event is scheduled for Indy. While in Albuquerque last year, there was a gathering at the team hotel with band, cheerleaders, players, fans, etc. It's always nice to spend some time with the team and get to know the girls.
Soak it all in. ENJOY!

Actually, I made sure that my hotel has wireless access so that I can weigh in after the games. This HoopScooper shall be keeping you posted as to the adventures in Indy!

We went to the Final 4 in 02, 03, and 04 - you WILL enjoy this one a tad more than we did our 3 as there will be few if any UConn fans there :) I don't know about their home crowd, but their traveling fans can be obnoxious!
Looking forward to REPORTS - I just don't understand why the arena doesn't have wireless so you can report from the game about how soon Kim tears up after winning it all! :D

Cool, brolewis.....we look forward to it. You will have the time of your life; I've not found a basketball experience that tops cheering your own team in the Final Games on the biggest stage.
Go Baylor!! I'll certainly be cheering in front of a 32" square.

Someone posted a question regarding any fan/alumni events in Indy. There is a pep rally downtown at 8:45pm on Saturday night for Baylor fans.
