This was an ugly win for the Cyclones! Words can not express how out of hand the officials let this game get. The play in the post was outrageously rough, I thought. I was proud of the Cyclones, though. Usually rough play gives us trouble (and it did in the first half), but we recovered and stepped up with some physical play of our own (especially Melanie Bremer, when she got in). I was just glad that neither team had anyone get hurt!

How great is this conference? One game left, and you've got teams that could be anywhere from a 2 - 7 seed in the conference tournament????? You gotta be kidding me! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Yeah, once again the officials were terrible. Par for the course, I suppose. The one guy who kept mistaking an ISU pump-fake for a travel and then refused to call KU for ACTUALLY travelling was the worst of all three. Scary thing was that I didn't recognize him. You'd think that a new face on the court might allow for some intelligence in the calls being made, but the Big 12 crew proved me wrong again. Thanx, guys.

Always nice to win over Kansas, tho. I don't care how bad they have been this season. Just something especially rewarding about seeing Washington rack up another loss. I hope when KU finally gets someone else to take over the team (please, please, please after this season), they are able to actually TEACH the players how to play basketball instead of wasting talent like she has over the last five years, if not longer (exhibit A: Lynn Pride).

Oh, and thanx to Kansas for dropping our SOS like a rock - from 11th to 26th. Win or lose, it will jump back a bit after Baylor. But playing Kansas seems to hurt whether you beat 'em or not. Go fig.
