I am very excited about getting to go to this game. Our team has really come along way so far this year. I went to the t.u. game a few weeks ago, and they did not look very good to me. I do not know how they beat Oklahom. They were really haveing a hard time getting the ball to halfcourt against our pressure. I think we will sneak up on them again in Austin on Saturday.
Who will we play in the big twelve tournament?

With the way UT is playing right now, and with important conference positioning/B12 seeding on the line, I doubt A&M will be "sneaking up on them," especially after having beat UT already this year. With this one being in Austin, I like UT by 25 points.

Welcome aboard! Stick around this year and next. We need an A&M fan's perspective.
UT is prone to turnovers and difficulty against the press. I'm sure they've been working on their press break after allowing 23? steals in College Station. On the other hand, A&M has consistently improved their execution of the press and the variety of types they use. Could be interesting. It's possibly to Tech's advantage for A&M to win, so I'll be rooting for them.

I see Texas' guard play as weak, slow (exception Larkin), and turnover prone, so I would think this would be a close game, as those are the weaknesses that the quick Aggie guards can expose.
Then again, Texas is playing better and on a roll...so who knows.
Plus A&M doesn't have a strong inside game (do they?), so Stephens could go to town and offset the guards.
Howdy Aggiegal! Welcome to HoopScoop. Most of the poster probably don't know that HOWDY is the proper greeting for an Ag. The lady Aggies have their work cut out for them in Austin. The lady Horns are getting better and better. Hopefully A&M's speed and pressure can make a difference like it did at Reed Arena. Good Luck and keep us posted on the team.

Welcome, aggiegal, A&M is certainly an exciting team to watch. They are so quick and athletic. What a shame that the zebras managed to ruin what was a very exciting game with their gazillion foul calls in the last 10 minutes. I thought the game would never end! The last five minutes on the clock must have taken 20 minutes to play.
The Lubbock paper said tha LaToya Rose was unable to play because of being hospitalized with chest pains. Hope it wasn't anything really serious and that she is o.k. now.

I think Coach Gillom has done lot to bring A&M around and makes the most of the talent she has, but UT just has more horses at this point. They have a tremendous advantage in the paint with Stacey Stephens and Tracy Cook, and Heather Schrieber is awesome.
If A&M can force enough turnovers and keep the pace really quick, they may be able to pull it out, but they have to really be on with their outside shots and attack the paint to force Stephens into foul trouble. They have to really hit the boards and get quick break opportunities.
Much as I would like to see A&M win this one, I have to go with
UT in the Drum.
I smell a rat. Big time.
Air, are you operating under an assumed name?

I agree, UT in the drum, also. OU actually had the size advantage in the frontcourt, if you can imagine...that may be the only team they had a size advantage over.

I'm with you, Bevo. Something smells a little fishy here. Sounds like someone's trying to stir the pot a little.

Texas must and will win this game against the Aggies. Against OU the other night, I saw the Horns trying some different things to counter pressure. The Aggie defense as presently played is high risk/high reward. When the Aggies get tons of steals and tons of turnovers, they can create chaos among the opposition. Teams that can consistently beat the Aggie press have the opportunity to get easy buckets. All that double and triple teaming has to leave people open. I look for Anissa Hastings to be a difference maker on Saturday as she was against OU. The coaching staff needs to impress on Larkin, her importance on the floor. Kenya should stay on the floor even if she has to give up a couple of layups to avoid fouls. Texas will probably turn the ball over to often but they just need to close the turnover margin gap by a few to turn the game in the Horns favor.

I've been meaning to comment on Larkin since the Tennessee game, she is very quick, I really like the way she plays and she really seems to make a difference when she is in the game.

I'll add my welcome, Aggiegal.
We could really use some true A&M insight and viewpoint. It's been difficult for me to occasionally speak up for the Ags -- I was able to earlier predict the victory over UT, but this time, I'm afraid the Horns will win, and probably fairly easily, having gotten a taste of the Helter-Skelter defense.

I do surely hope Air hasn't just received several nice and sweet reponses to his(sic) postings'.

The Lady Horns' focus has been impressive lately, and they seem to be handling the pressue a bit better. I don't normally do this, but I think we will win going away. But if we just win I'll be glad. Go Kansas State, BEAT CU!!!!!!!

There's a 99% percent chance that aggiegal is indeed AirLonghorn. Sorry to disappoint everyone - I was hoping we actually, finally had an A&M fan on board as well.
The IP address for AirLonhorn and Aggiegal match up to the fourth number. Meaning, if it isn't the same person, then AirLonghorn better watch out since he works with an Aggie fan!

I don't like playing A&M again after an overtime game, but think UT will win. I hope we get to see both Hastings and Dillard. Dillard has the quickness to take advantage of the full court press and it would be fun to see her have two good games in a row.

EDMOM, I was wondering about LaToya Rose myself. I think A&M missed her a bunch in the USA Tuesday night. The Dallas paper said she had breathing difficulties (Lubbock paper did say chest pains...) and was hospitalized in Lubbock. Perhaps she has asthma problems? I hope she is doing OK. But how would we know? The Bryan/CS paper and the Houston Comical don't report anything about A&M wbb but the Associated Press story. If you're looking for indepth from the AP stories on Tech's home games, might as well give up. The AP assigns their Agriculture reporter to do the basketball stories from Lubbock. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif
Anyway, hospitalization means serious business these days (right KSURon?). So I hope Rose has a full recovery from whatever ailed her.

Rose missed the Texas Tech game with abdominal discomfort, but has been cleared to return to play
This released today in their Texas game notes.

OK I picked UT by 25, they ended up winning by 28. Something tells me we won't be hearing from "aggiegal" the rest of the year.
