HELP - need a room at Big 12 Tourney

Looks like I may need to share a room with someone Tuesday night and Wednesday night at the Big 12 Tourney in Kansas City. My wife will insist it be a male! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

So, anyone have a hotel room to share or any ideas? swok34 - didn't you say there was a real cheap place within walking distance to Municipal?

A couple of years ago, I stayed at the Hotel Phillips, I found a deal over the internet for $50 bucks a night and it's right around the corner.....they remodelled last year and reopened, so I'm not sure you can find the same deal. It's right around the corner from the Municipal. You might try there, we were going to stay there but their rooms have 1 king size bed only, don't have any rooms with 2 beds.

I located a Rodeway Inn I think for about $60 a night, though it's about 2 miles south from the arena, we are staying at a Fairfield Inn, straight south 2 miles on Main Street for $85 night. Do you qualify for government discount?.....that's how you can get about $20 bucks a night knocked off.

Could try the Hotel Savoy --
It calls itself a Bed & Breakfast but looks like an older but remodeled Hotel. (Has antique furnishings) About 3 - 4 blocks from the arena.

About a month ago I booked a room for $89.00/ night including full breakfast.

I checked out the Hotel Phillips (at http://www.hotelphillips.com of course!) and since the recent renovation the hotel looks very, very nice.

Their prices look to be competitive, starting at $99 a night, which is a lot more than what swok34 paid.

The renovation at 20 million dollars amounts to 92 thousand dollars per guest room!
