View Full Version : Baylor at OSU
Baylor has to be feeling good this afternoon after the win over Colorado. It was a crucial game for them (They all are). I was looking at WWW.WOMENSCOLLEGEHOOPS.COM (http://WWW.WOMENSCOLLEGEHOOPS.COM) and they have a list of 18 teams that have a 100% chance of getting an at-large bid to make the NCAA tourney. BU, CU, KSU, OU and TU are on it. ISU and Tech are in the next group and then they have OSU on the bubble. OSU, given the recent turn of events in the coaching situation, may prove to be a real challenge for Baylor this weekend. They are in a must win situation to make the tournament and I look for them to kick it up a notch. Ya'll will get tired of me singing the praises of Baylor's defense, but that will be the deciding factor again IMO.
Seniors Cummings and Faulk won't go away without a fight. They, along with Skibbe are talented players and can hurt you big time on any given night. Statistically they match up well, with Baylor having a slight advantage.

I penciled this in as a fairly easy win at the beginning of the year, but this game scares me to death. The timing of the trip to Stillwater has bit us two years in a row. Last year, we had to play OSU the first game after the plane crash, and lost a tight game in OT. Although watching the emotional lift that win gave them at a time they really needed it, I think that is the first time I ever really did not mind at all losing a game.
Now this year, we get to be the farewell home game for Halterman.
I'm not going to be so generous this time!! I think he did get shafted a bit by a clueless administration, but that's as far as my sympathy goes. OSU has been on a strong adrenaline rush, but those can only go on so long. The big difference this year for Baylor is I think Kim has the team much better focused and prepared to block out the distractions and get the job done.
So....... Baylor by 10.

I was listening to the Big XII coaches teleconference the other day and the assistant coach was taking the media calls. She was asked if the decision about Halterman was the reason for the surge.....she actually kind of put off whoever asked that question. Her explanation to everyone was that there were quite a few seniors on this team that wanted to finish out their season
as best they could, hopefully in the NCAA tourney. OSU has 5 seniors on their team.
