Nina is questionable for the A&M game and is day-to-day according to today's Austin American Statesman. No new diagnostic news. She has pain in her neck.

I don't think they will need her at A&M but I sure hope she is in fantastic shape for the tourney AND BEYOND!

From watching the UT/OU game on TV, it appeared to me that Nina took a really hard blow to the jaw and neck when she ran into the screen Leah Rush set before she got tangled up with Chelsi Welch. I could not tell from the replay that she took much of a jolt from Chelsi. Did she strike her head hard when she went down after the play with Chelsi?

Zo.....I think it was Chelsi's elbow that caught Nina in the temple. I didn't look like she hit her head on the floor after coming down. She was definitely out for 30 seconds or so.
It was my opinion at the game that the first blow to the head must have contributed to the effect of the second. That is just my opinion, but it was sure the way that it looked.
Nina was obviously struggling just to stand after the first blow. I was surprised that she returned to the game so quickly. Then the second blow to the head was only a few minutes later.
She fell right in front of me, only a few feet away, and did not appear to hit her head on the floor when that happened. You don't have to be hit that hard if the blow is in just the right spot. But, in this case it looked like it was a combination of the two. But, that was just my opinion, and I have zero medical qualifications.
Thanks to a friendly hoopscooper I finally have a tape of the game to watch and hope to get to that tonight. I was close enough that I'm sure I will see myself. But, that is going to be a difficult part of the game to watch.

Thanks for the update, Carolann. Here's hoping that Nina is ready to go against the Aggies, if Coach C agrees that it's wise to get on the court.
