Technical Problems

The forces of evil conspired against us this afternoon, shutting down the site temporarily. Fortunately, thanks to a carefully concocted combination of incense and Gregorian chants, we're back up.
Bracket Projections

Due to unexpected problems today, this week's bracket will be delayed. It won't go up until later tonight at the earliest. Sorry about that.

I love this bracket.............no Big 12 teams in our corner, Roz' hometown, Stacey's folks not far........ http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

This bracket makes a lot of sense. It is also quite kind to the conference. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif 5 host teams (OU #1; KSU, BU #3; CU, ISU #4) plus two more high seeds (Texas #5, Tech #6).

oooooh. I like our bracket! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Don't get too fond of it. It'll probably change completely next time around.
ISU HAS to like this bracket!
Any team that hosts the first 4 rounds and stays within the Big 12 region for the Final Four has to feel good about their chances.
I also like how the Big 12 teams are so nicely dispersed in this one. Baylor and Texas in the West, Colorado and K-State in the East, Oklahoma in the Mideast, Iowa State and Texas Tech in the Midwest.
If the final bracket stays anything like this one, I sure like our chances of getting a team (or more) to San Antone.
I like the dispersal too. NCAA guidelines recommend that conference foes be placed in opposite sides of the bracket if they have to be in the same region. This bracket reflets that. It also makes sense for OU to be the Big XII team alone in their region. I think this will probably happen if OU is placed out west.

I like this projection, too. Creighton won't have to travel far, and I like the possibility of Bluejays-Wildcats in the second round

Way too early to get into all of that. Everybody still has to play each other in the next week or so. Don't look for Cu, ISU, or Baylor to "run the table." Cu won't host, that's for sure! Baylor and ISU are "bubbles" for hosting. All will depend on the next 3 games and showings in the Big XII Tournament.

Actually Air, we as fans can afford to "get into that." These next few weeks are the best if you're a womens hoops fan, and breaking down mythical brackets is just the beginning of the madness on the horizon. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

AirLonghorn, are you saying t.u. is going to host before Baylor or Iowa State? t.u. is on the weakest bubble of these three teams. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/tongue.gif

Zo,
I disagree, UT is in not weaker than Iowa State. Baylor will most likely finished 2nd in the conference and host. Iowa State is looking like it will finish behind UT in the conference. It has wins over CU, Oklahoma, and KState. But Texas has wins over the first two and Iowa State (Plus a tougher schedule) and the Tennessee game. Well... lordy lordy, UT finally has some momentum. Here's to a UT-Iowa State tournament final!!

For those non-texans who might be wondering what the heck is going on with Zo's "t.u." allow me to explain. Simply put, t.u. is a childish thing that aggies do to show their inferiority complex of The University of Texas (no, it doesn't stand for Tulsa). Instead of calling them UT, aggies call them t.u., or "texas university" always lowercase and abbreviated. Pretty clever huh. Of course since there aren't any aggies on this board and it's an aggie thing, I'm not sure why it was posted. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

I like this bracket too. I can see two and maybe three Big XII schools in the FF: Baylor, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech.
Big12Bear, just a little jab at AirLonghorn. My daughter is an Aggie and I catch myself sometimes saying "tu" instead of "UT" simply from hearing it that way so much. Highest respect for coach Conradt and the Lady Longhorns. And Grojc, you may be right about Texas being stronger than ISU, but I feel ISU has a better chance of hosting in Ames.

Dumb me! I graduated from UT at Austin, and always thought that TU meant "THE University".

t.u.
This reminds me of a dish called the t.u. special at a Mexican restaurant in Dallas (owned by an Aggie). It's made up of all chicken dishes. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
big12bear knows the place that i'm talking about. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

Aye! 'Tis Tupinamba's, right near where I work. I always make sure to get the t.u. special, as opposed to the RC Slocum special http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif
