Hasn't this game started yet?... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif This is the one I'll be listening to tonite.....will peek in to the ISU/MU game, though I suspect the result of that one. The NU/OSU will be an interesting one to keep up with, too.

Remember my projects (2 of 2 as of last night), as for tonight:
Baylor vs. Colorado = the skinnier coach will win
Missouri vs. Iowa State = the more masculine coach will win
Nebraska vs. Okla. State = the more feminine coach will win
(Oklahoma wrecked in Austin. Tech beat Aggies)

If nothing else, the outcomes of the Nebraska vs. Okla.State and Iowa State vs. Missouri will tell us "just a little bit more" about each of the coaches.

Congrats to Baylor. Like I said, "The skinnier coach would win"! Was the final score an 11 point margin? 80-69?

Crockrom had a monster game but Lambert scored only 7 points, only the the third time since she has been at Baylor. In the other two previous games, Baylor won also against Texas and Chicago-Illinois.
Tonights game was tough. Baylor really shut down Colorado's perimeter scoring from behind the arc. It was a physical battle. The officials let them play for the most part and then they cracked down and called the ticky tack. Baylor outscored them in the paint and out rebounded them despite the height advantage.
Maybe the Lady http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/bu.gif can hang on to a good tournament seed.

Zo.......the really great news about this game is now Baylor owns the tiebreaker over Colorado. I think Ceal is not too happy tonite though and I suspect they will plow over Kansas State and I think they will beat Nebraska.
The Baylor game on Sunday vs OSU has become huge, especially with the way Oklahoma State is playing, but I think Baylor is a team that is "soaring" right now...I might have to go see that game and root for the Bears http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/bu.gif
Great win tonite.

Wow, that was a hard fought game. Obviously Colorado couldn't find a way to stop Danielle, but I thought the biggest factor for Baylor, especially since Sheila had an off night, was Nicole Collins. 8 pts, 8 assists, 6 rebounds (for a 5'3" PG!!) 2 steals and 0 turnovers. She really kept our offense going all night, plus she held Nightingale to 3-11 shooting.
I haven't seen Colorado play all year, and I was really impressed with how crisply they run their offense. But tonight they couldn't get the good 3-point looks, and had too many turnovers at crucial times.

Just got back from the game. Thanks for the nice comments everyone! This was a game between two red-hot teams. BU had won 8 of 9 and CU had won 9 of 10!
I believe a CU fan made a point in her prediction about their depth and that is definitely the case! But what decided the game tonight was surprisingly not CU's depth, but Baylor's.
Bench points: CU 24, BU 23. That was the most telling stat in the game. Perhaps the bench points would look more impressive when you take into account that due to Fox's injury, normal bench player, Stasha Richards had to start tonight, and she chipped in a fair amount, herself!
I was so happy to see 4 Seniors go out winners at home like this. Lambert and co had tears in their eyes for the pregame ceremony. They finish the home regular season with only ONE home loss (hats off to OU). http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
Colorado played a gritty game. BU was never really seriously threatened, but we never had complete control of the game. Even when we were up 15 in the 2nd half, I knew CU would make this thing tight down the stretch. They are too good of a team for that not to happen. They did a good job of controlling Lambert, because we didn't have much of a fast break tonight. CU is a patient team, running that old Chicago Bulls triangle offense. We're used to getting a lot of steals.
It feels good to be tied for 2nd after a 1-3 start, but we have a tough finish. I think if we win at OSU, we're a lock to host NCAA's. Thoughts?
Sic 'Em Bears!
Swok, I may just have to drive up to stillwater. It should be a really good game. Last season I had made a bet that Baylor would finish 3rd in the conference, of course they didn't. This year I had hopes of finishing 2nd or 3rd, but was hesitant to openly predict such a finish. It would be wonderful if they could get the second seed in the tournament. Their chances are looking good. Some help would be nice.
It will be interesting to watch the tournament unfold on a neutral court (for the most part). OU certainly has the talent and momentum going in but it could come down to one of about five or six teams. Just an execllent indication of what this conference has been all about this season.
I read or heard that possibly 9 teams from the SEC would make the NCAA, that is wild considering the number of ranked teams from the Big XII and the automatic bids.

I agree, zo.....I don't see how 9 SEC teams could be justified.
The SEC has done it's own beating up on each other just as the Big XII has done, not sure it's been as crazy week to week, though there was a week or 2 in there that were.
I do think Baylor is playing really good right now and may have what it takes to beat Oklahoma State.....Baylor is certainly used to tight man-to-man defense, and Crockrum is a really, really smart player in the frontcourt...
