I hope everyone got to see Iowa State play on tv yesterday. That was the most fun I've had at a home game in quite some time. A good opponent, noisy crowd, competitive... Just wish our attendance could have been better. But with the holiday, students and families were gone, plus a lot of people still have to work on a Friday afternoon. (The announcers said the attendance was 10,000. The box score had it at 7800 - which was still probably a bit high. It'll get better since we sold over 10,000 season tickets again this year.)

Liked what Fennelly was able to do against Thomas defensively. He let White go, which he didn't know she was going to light it up the way she did (especially for a freshman). He said after the game that he was going to allow her those shots if it meant keeping Thomas from playing her game. Thomas has never scored less than double figures before and we held her to 10.

Angie set a new career high in scoring with 29. Tracy G. Played really well again (as evidenced by her tournament MVP award) and Tracy P. continued to make it look like Megan was still on the court for us at times. Couldn't be happier with Paustian's abilities so far this year. Lindsey seems to still be finding her touch for the 3, but everything else is going full power for her.

Once again, the officials need to glance thru the rulebook before taking the court. While I don't believe they changed the outcome of the game, they certainly didn't give referees a good name. Jan Herke (gotta love that last name as a Cyclone fan) is usually inept at making a decent call. One of the other two guys was on the floor merely as an ornament, I guess - he did virtually nothing. The one with the grey hair was a complete idiot. He make Herke look good in comparison. I'm not going to get started on Big XII officials so early in the season. We all know a lot of them are terrible (and a few are actually decent). We need to be thankful that our teams are good enough to play thru bad officiating.

Anyway, hope everyone enjoyed the game! ISU's next tv appearance is in Ames vs Nebraska, January 5th on Fox Sports. (I can't believe no one picked up the Iowa game next month!!)
