SPECIAL THANKS GO TO BearLady :bu: FOR CATCHING THIS MISTAKE!

NOTE: I found an error in the overall results due to a glitch in my formulas that only affected Bball Girl. I had reported her tied for the lead at 43-6, when in fact she was credited for a 6-0 session for the one week when she didn't enter the Pick'em session contest.

As a result, she drops in the standings, although that 0-0 session will likely be dropped in her final score, so I wouldn't think she will be hurt by it. Sorry about the error, but these things sometimes happen.[/I]

YCN,

Can't you get the results posted a little more quickly? Goodness me...Baylor / Kansas State game has been over for all of 5 minutes.

I note that John Henry got credit for his pick of Oklahoma. However, he picked the Sooners over Nebraska when in fact OU played Kansas in the same session when Nebraska played at Oklahoma State. He picked the correct school but the wrong game. Sometimes this can get a little confusing for our t-sip friends.

Umm, sorry to interrupt, but I need a reminder about the meaning of "t-sip." It's not one we learned back East.

If somebody every gets the time, it might be handy to put together a little glossary of Texasisms. Particularly for us immigrants from the lands by the seas. (How many of us are there here?)

I think it's actually tea-sippers. I just seem to abbreviate as t-sip.

Texas fans can correct me if I'm wrong. Meaning I've learned is to associate UT graduates as a little snooty...people who hold their pinkies in the air while sipping tea. Texas fans will say status comes from their position as "the boss" due to distinguished degree from their esteemed alma mater.

I've asked this once before....do you Texas fans take offense to the term tea-sip?

As I posted under "certain words" I think this is a phrase that has lost it's orginal meaning, but my mom (UT class of '44) was offened by this phrase. She reported (I can find no source for this except her stories to me when I went away to college at UT) came from the Aggies who said that the pinkie raised when drinking their tea was the size of a certain body part of male UT students. The implication was that UT students are not much to speak of . Since my mom was among those who went to school with many of the men who fought and died in WWII any disparagement of their manhood was offensive to her.

I'm always amazed at how much of that other school's traditions (a large portion of their fight song, for example) is aimed at undermining UT. :p Kind of flattering, don't you think?

Well, I've always thought that was a&m trying to act bigger than it really is.

One of the nicest Techsans I know turned down a&m for Tech.
