The Big 12 has 3 participants, all from the state of Texas.
Erin Grant (Texas Tech), Nina Norman (Texas), and Chelsi Welch (Oklahoma).
Is this OKlahoma's first signee to play in this game?

Gillian Goring (West Waterloo HS), who has verbally committed to UConn, inks with the Huskies when the late signing period begins April 10

I didn't know she had verballed to Connecticut.

This will be the first time I get to see an OU recruit play on TV prior to OU.

I thought her status was still unknown, with ISU still in the mix?
Like Uconn needs another top caliber player in their recruiting class!!

Goring did make what some people considered a verbal committment to UConn but later changed her mind, deciding to keep her options open instead. Reports were that she was considering UConn, Western Kentucky, and Iowa State, but more recent reports have pretty much eliminated Western Kentucky. That may be why the article talks about "if" Goring signs with UConn.

By the way, since Goring became eligible at Waterloo West in January, she's been averaging 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 blocks per game.

In Goring's first game at West, she tied Nina Smith's school record with 10 blocks in the game. In what I believe was her third game, she shattered the record and got her first triple-double with 28 points, 16 rebounds, and 14 blocks.

Well, she is from Trinidad. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif Hopefully we can keep the Caribbean players coming. Desiree Francis was from Antigua...

Here is an article from the Waterloo Courier, published right when she became eligible.
