Nicole Ohlde scored 19 and had 11 rebounds. The game was never close after the first few minutes. KSU led by as much as 18 in the first half. KU did close to within 13 once in the second half but after that it was KSU "gone". Two players led KU with 8 points each. Kendra Wecker had 17 for KSU. Laurie Koehn and Kristin Rethman were both mostly passers and decoys today. I think Laurie had about six points.
The attendence was the second largest in KU womens history, around 11,800, and obviously most of the fans were K-State fans. It was fun to turn the tables on KU and call the place Bramlage East. It had to be a bit much for the KU players and staff to be that badly outnumbered in Allen Field House. I hope Marion Washington gets things back on track soon.
The refs "let em play" and there were very few fouls called in the game. At least I will admit they made most of the same calls and non-calls on each end of the floor. KSU handled it better today. KU was in against a fired up KSU team and a rowdy set of KSU fans and they played hard all game long. I wish them better luck in the future. (but not against K-State)
