Nicole Ohlde scored 19 and had 11 rebounds. The game was never close after the first few minutes. KSU led by as much as 18 in the first half. KU did close to within 13 once in the second half but after that it was KSU "gone". Two players led KU with 8 points each. Kendra Wecker had 17 for KSU. Laurie Koehn and Kristin Rethman were both mostly passers and decoys today. I think Laurie had about six points.

The attendence was the second largest in KU womens history, around 11,800, and obviously most of the fans were K-State fans. It was fun to turn the tables on KU and call the place Bramlage East. It had to be a bit much for the KU players and staff to be that badly outnumbered in Allen Field House. I hope Marion Washington gets things back on track soon.

The refs "let em play" and there were very few fouls called in the game. At least I will admit they made most of the same calls and non-calls on each end of the floor. KSU handled it better today. KU was in against a fired up KSU team and a rowdy set of KSU fans and they played hard all game long. I wish them better luck in the future. (but not against K-State)

I figured there would be a lot of people there: 5 or 6,000 max. 11,800 is a lot of people! How far apart are the KU and KSU campuses?

I haven't really scoped out the distance. I'll check it out later. I'd guess around a hundred miles. Kansas natives could probably tell us to the last tenth mile. I'm a newbie in this state.

It's less than a two-hour drive, isn't it? Depending on the status of the road construction -- have they finished it yet? It used to be so bad it was actually a factor in my deciding not to drive to the ISU/K-State game. That and all the tickets being sold out, of course.

The road is fine now without any construction going on. I'm sure they will FIX that come summer. Yes its less than two hours.

I have the official box now. Attendance was 11,858 and it was the second largest ever. KSU did not do much from outside the arc and the stats show it. 4-18 from three-land including 0-4 for Koehn. The damage was done in the paint with 38 points for KSU and 12 for KU. There were twelve fouls called on each team for the game. KSU went 7-8 from the line and KU 4-8. I think both teams could have (should have?) been called for more fouls but I suppose "enough already" with "ref" references for me.

KSU also led in rebounds 46-29. Nikki White and Blair Waltz were the leading scorers for KU with 8 each. For KSU it was Ohlde 19, Wecker 18, Rethman 8, Koehn 6, Mahoney 4. Wecker had the most minutes with 34. KSU played 11 players. 10 played five minutes or more.
