One week after one game where Nebraska actually played good for once, it all came crashing down hard with two lackluster efforts and a brutal 81-47 loss to Oklahoma yesterday.

The Huskers lost the game on Friday when both Stephanie Jones and Katie Robinette where suspended. The real details? Only Oliver Stone will say. But Jones' suspension, and not making the trip to Norman, could yet be another ice storm in the the growing cold war between Jones and head coach Paul Sanderford.
This episode is just another example of the pathetic state of Nebraska womens basketball. Kids being suspended during a critical part of the season were the team could still do something. The WNIT longshot just went bust.

About the game. Nebraska made a solid run in the first half, but as usual, they start slow and then when Dales, Caulfield and Tolbert forged that early second half run, Nebraska did what they do best, quit.

ABOUT OKLAHOMA.
They are good, very good. I was not surprised about their ability, but by the ruthlessness in which they dispatched the opposition. What struck me was how well they controlled the game even when Nebraska was making a move. Sherri Coale has a good balanced club going. Develop a couple more bench players, and I'd take this team the rest of the way to San Antonio.
Stacey Dales was her usual efficient self, 14 points, 8 rebounds, and she really took advantage of the gaping hole Nebraska had inside. Caton Hill did what she usually does, and Jamie Tolbert? I didn't think she do what she ended up doing.
I also have to eat crow about "Crossing Guard" Caulfield. She did place quite a challenge on Keasha Cannon.

WHAT DIDN'T WORK FOR NEBRASKA.
1. Robinette and Jones, because they didn't play.
2. Keasha Cannon. She had her worst game since Tulane, and just wasn't a factor at all.
3. Team Offense. Nebraska shot 16-for-50 for the game. That doesn't help when you don't have a real chance to rebound the ball. It was the worst case scenario for Nebraska. One shot and end of possession.

Overall Outlook: We now return to our regularly scheduled Cornhusker collapse.
A memo to Katie and Stephanie.
I don't know what you did. I don't care.
Yesterday, neither of you where of any help to the ballclub and it showed.
Whatever it is, deal with it, even if its Pale Sanderfraud.

Chipper ---

any info on the "Charo" and Robinette suspensions? Why did katie get to make the trip and not dress out but Jones was not allowed to make the trip.

Obviously, having those two out let Talbert more easily achieve her seasons high. Don't the the ultimate outcome would have been different but surely would have kept the score closer if those two were in the lineup.
