In ceremonies prior to the Texas Tech-Texas women's basketball game on Wednesday, longtime Lady Raider fans Douglas and Angela Boren presented an endowed scholarship of $500,000 for the center position.

What a wonderful endowment! But it made me wonder how many other schools have been recepients of such giving for women's basketball.

hmmmm. OU women's basketball has Mary Jane Noble..of the Noble Foundation. The women's practice court is named after her. I heard she wouldn't donate unless the women got what the men got (that may have been a rumor though). The Lloyd Noble Center is named after the Noble Family. The Noble Foundation is a HUGE donor to OU in general:

The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation of Ardmore has pledged $8.17 million toward the University of Oklahoma's $16.3 million project to renovate Lloyd Noble Center and add a 63,000-square-foot facility for men's and women's basketball. It is the largest gift ever to intercollegiate athletics at Oklahoma.
