This should probably be a continuing thread although he hasn't said anything outrageous in weeks now.....

4 of Geno's championship rings were stolen from his car in Nov and the police think they have the person who bought them from the kids who lifted them. But, the rings are still missing.....

Geno says:

""Just because you steal one of those and wear them around, it doesn't make you any good at anything. You're just somebody that stole something and wears it around," he said.

OK so far - but then.....

"Maybe whoever is wearing them is a Tennessee fan," he said.

What a bonehead for leaving his car UNLOCKED

From the story on ESPN:
"I didn't lock my car and someone took my stuff,'' said Auriemma, who has coached UConn to five NCAA titles, including the last three.

I'm from a town of 2500 in North Dakota and I lock my car. I don't keep CDs in my car, so unless they want to steal a tow rope or my snow boots, I don't really even having anything of value.

While I don't know the population of Manchester, why would you leave $800 rings in your unlocked car?

And why would you be carrying 4 of them around with you?????? Oh wait, maybe I just thought of the answer to that one...was he on a recruiting trip and trying to impress a high school player with the hardware? Well, it was still a bonehead move to leave them in an unlocked car.
