I put together a spreadsheet which calculates the Big XII tournament seeds. I'll post a link to it when I get home.

Here it is:

It's not very user-friendly, but I believe it works. The blue games are ones that haven't been played. You can change those results and see how the seedings change.

Wow mred, nice stuff. Any chance you know Javascript? Then this could be programmed in that language and put on the website. I once ran across a website for some Math dept. at a university that had a semester project where were able to mathematically eliminate baseball teams as time drew closer and closer to the end of the season. Of course I'm talking about more than just computing a magic number. They took into account the remaining schedules for all teams and therefore were able to eliminate teams earlier than what a magic number showed. I don't suppose you have any idea what I'm talking about do you? I forget the mathematical term for the theory they were invoking.

Very nice,

I'll try to post this killer of a formula that I was pressured to come up with just this week, in order to determine just exactly how well we responded to customer requests for assistance.

Coming up with it was fun, but getting there was a headache!

mred, I can't open up your spreadsheet, is there another way to get to it?

Zo: You can download an excel viewer here, which will let you view the page in IE. http://download.microsoft.com/download/excel2000/Xlviewer/2000/WIN98/EN-US/xlViewer.exe

Hoopscoop: I'll look into it, but I doubt I'll be able to do it before the tournament. I don't really know Java, but it isn't that hard to pick up.
