Tech - Rice

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a little concerned about tonight's game against Rice considering they're hot right now and the Lady Raiders are still trying to find their identity.

Rice always has a tough team, they're well coached and this is going to be a tough game unless some players step up big time on the offensive end. This is another big test for this team as they struggle. Maybe this will be a breakout game for everyone--they're due for one!

All the people who were taken by surprise by Tech's loss to New Mexico and the close game against North Texas are now predicting an 'upset' win by Rice. This is a good opportunity (playing a top 25 contender at home) for the Lady Raiders to get things going in the right direction.

Yes, Tech definitely will have tough time with Rice. Rice is a very solid, well coached team that is definitely on the rise and is used to success. Still, I'm going with Tech. I think the whole team was in shock against North Texas, but is begining to get its head on straight again.

The players had a lot better chemistry in the last two practices than they did before New Mexico, and the glassy eyes have disappeared in favor of a more focused, determined look.

Is Pierson around at all at practices?

Let's hope so. Without Pierson, we look for all the scoring to come from youngsters, Perkins, Ritchie and the other underclassmen. Let's hope Tarr, Ellison and White decide they need not only be seniors and lead the team, but need to score as well. None of them have really shown us in the past that they are consistent offensive threats.
