Well, I decided to start a thread on this week's big game.
I hope OU can limit Ohlde's touches. I look for Dales to have a big game, and for Ross to be 'on'. Hill needs to stay out of foul trouble. Has Talbert been playing less minutes lately?
How will K-State respond to the loss at Nebraska?
I'll probably miss the game completely--sound card is messed up on my computer, plus a friend is in town this week. Sometimes when I'm in my car, I can pick up 1520 AM so I'll try that.

Lucky for us it will be shown on TV.
Once again, I was surprised at KSU's defense against Nebraska. It really looked porous. KSU typically plays a zone defense - I'm having a tough time recalling - but if I remember correctly they were forced to go to man-to-man because they got behind so early. Cannon just ate up that defense. She got close look after close look after close look.
Have to think KSU will play better Wednesday. OU has had a history this season of getting up early on its opponents (although that trend hasn't always applied to games recently). If OU took a big early lead it will be interesting to see what KSU does to get back into the game.
One of the keys, I think, will be OU's perimeter defense. Two reasons: limit 3-point shots and harass KSU's guards so they don't get easy entry passes to Ohlde. If they have an easy time passing to Ohlde then I don't think OU can contain Nicole underneath - even with good weak side help.
Another thing: Can OU tire them out? Can OU run-n-gun and test the endurance of the Wildcat legs?
Can't wait for this one!

It's also on the fans live tracker site:
http://www.fansonly.com/channels/media/fansonly-media-2-13-2002.html
though the last time I tried to follow an OU game....it stayed woefully behind the radio. It did ok last night as I was keeping up with the end of the Tenn/Georgia game.
From my experience, the live tracker is usually pretty even with streaming internet audio (sometimes ahead, more often a little bit behind), so it works great for that.

well, it could turn into an ISU rematch (yuk) with Kansas State's zone.
I sure hope Sherri Coale has the boom boxes blaring in practice the next couple of days.....she made the comment that typically when you go to KSU, it's purple seats....now there will be purple people in those seats.
I think the OU team knows how important this game is.....and how dangerous KSU can be, especially at home.....they dealt with Ohlde last year but the threat from the perimeter wasn't as great......
would think that OU would come out playing a physical man to man as Nebraska did.......that seems to bother them. Of course, the officials let them play, too...I would think OU would want to run and gun offensively....
I think Nebraska's D completely changed the game for KSU, they were rushing their shots in the 1st half, not being patient in their offense and not hitting them...
I recall watching KSU against Texas Tech and I was amazed at their offensive spacing and finding the holes in TT's defense.

oh, does anyone know how bad Ohlde's ankle was?.....she certainly didn't play the same after coming back in after she twisted it?

From WomensCollegeHoops - "Oklahoma at Kansas State- A Sooner win here and the Big 12 race is all but over, but it won't be easy. KSU got caught looking ahead at Nebraska, but they are allowed a slip up or two. In this one, OU's speed will cause Wildcats real issues in transition and while KSU depends on outside to open up the inside, diverse Sooners can go both ways. Prime example of experience over youth in a big game. OU 80-70." I agree. KSU is a known factor now and the better teams will shut them down.

Sherri Coale quote on Kansas State......
"We're going to get off the bus, go find them and stand by them. When there's time out, we may not even huddle. We may go to their huddle and stand by them........
defense! everybody stand by your (wo)man philosophy.....cover 'em up Sooners.....here's the full article from the Daily Oklahoman:
