mred, did you expect this kind of game?.......I certainly didn't.

I said Tennessee would win by 15, pulling away with ten minutes left. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

I did not expect this in the least. This will really help the conference RPI, even if Texas doesn't hold on.

That's it. I've been following on Fanslive Gametracker, but I'm going to have to listen to the end.

How many time outs does Texas have.

swok34
02-12-2002, 10:06 PM
uh oh.........Tennessee has 10.3 seconds to get it inbounds and hit a 3.......I don't think they are shooting 3's very good though.

What did I say? NO STEAL! I wish the Lady Vols had listened to me. Tennessee ball down 3 with 10 seconds left.

Texas just provided a huge boost to everyone's RPI! Well, more so everyone's thinking about the Big 12. What a great night for Bowers - showcasing the Big 12's great freshman talent - and she will likely not take FOY honors in the conference.

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Lady Horns. What a WIN!!!!!! Bowers was huge. What a team effort. Hastings is really coming on. Very active. Great coaching job JC.

So are the Texas fans going to give JC a break once again? The BIG 12 is tough and games will be lost. I think JC has done a great job this year. Way to go Texas!

Hook 'Em Horns! Way to go! I think that fan poll that asks which conference is tougher, Big 12 or SEC, just cleared up a little.

I watched this on TV. The horns stayed calm and hit some huge shots in the second half. They played that tough defense we all know so well. And they got some *good* officiating from the B12 officials. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

Fun game to watch. It felt sooo strange to be pleading with Stephens to hit her second free throw toward the end. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Were those Big 12 officials or a mix? I only recognized the one man with black hair as a Big 12 official. The either guy with brown hair and the lady I've never seen before in my 6 years of watching Big 12 basketball.

The Lady Vols missed seven straight shots down the stretch and slightly jeopardized their lock on a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tourney

whoever was talking seeding on some discussion here tonite....
if Tennessee finishes strong, they may be ok...

And I also think OU is in a different place this year in regards to seeding. Last year, they needed to win the "tournament" obviously. I don't think that's necesarily true this year with the strength and rankings of the Big XII this year........they do have to win the conference...I'd say win out there games and win a couple in Kansas City......not sure I believe they need to win the tourney championship this year. Didn't Tennessee LOSE in the tourney and not make it to the championship game and still retained their #1 seed?????

I think you're probably right. This whole season has been shifting the "benefit of the doubt" over to the Big 12, and Texas just gave it a BIG shove. Thank you Horns!

Schooner, two of the officials are from the Big 12. Scott Yarbrough and Barry Roberts.
