I thought that the officiating was bad in the big twelve, but nothing compared to the judges of the pairs figure skating contest. They gave higher marks to the Candian duo but ranked them second behind the Russians who were clearly did not have a gold medal performance. If the judges weren't big twelve officials they must have relatives who officiate in the big twelve

Maybe in a perverse weird way, we all have something to be thankful for.

I too watched the pairs last night. Jaime and David were IMO (and I'm no skating expert) the better pair at THAT given time. They should have won. They skated without fault while the russians had a couple of mistakes and regardless of difficulty of each's shows, I think that perfection should be the deciding factor. The Candaians had much much more emotion in their performance too and were deserving of the gold. Simple as that.

Funny how we all become avid figure skating fans every four years or so! This was also THE topic of conversation at my workplace this morning. We were all in agreement....total travesty.
