Let Hoopla! Begin.....

Hoopla! Session 1 for 2003 will cover games on Wednesday, January 8th involving 10 of the 12 Big 12 teams. Only Oklahoma and Nebraska will not play. So you can select your lineup from the 126 Big 12 players of those 10 teams. For a list of eligible players and their latest stats, click here (http://hoopscoop.net/big12wbb/istats.cgi?url=http://hoopscoop.net/big12wbb/hoopla/hp_session1.html). Or you can recreate this list by going into Interactive Stats (http://hoopscoop.net/big12wbb/istats.html) and listing the Hoopla! points per game average for all teams except Nebraska and Oklahoma.

When looking at this list, the 15th best Hoopla! player for the Hoopla! Practice Session is Tamara Ransburg with a 15.7 avg. So your starting team cannot exceed 78.5 (15.7 times 5) total Hoopla! points per average. And your reserve will need to have a 15.7 average or lower. Please refer to the rules in an earlier thread (http://hoopscoop.net/big12wbb/istats.cgi?url=http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000098.html) here on the Hoopla! Board.

A list of players that strictly play the point guard and post position are here (http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000102.html).

Games for Hoopla! Session 1 are:
Wednesday, Jan. 8
Missouri at Baylor, 7 p.m.
Iowa State at Colorado, 8 p.m.
Kansas State at Kansas, 7 p.m.
Oklahoma State at Texas, 7 p.m.
Texas Tech at Texas A&M, 7 p.m.

You have to enter your lineup before 7 pm Central Standard time on Wednesday. Reply to this thread to enter your starting lineup plus your one reserve player.

Looks like everybody either caught on just fine or remembered how to play Hoopla!. I'll provide results of the practice session - hopefully tomorrow. If someone else wants to tabulate results - be my guest. But I will do it - eventually - if noone else gets to it.

Why bother, 'Scoop?

Most of us just plain sucked anyway. I sure don't want to know MY score!

The real deal starts now.

In my first Hoopla attempt I am dead last. I originally had a lineup that included L. Wilson P. Pierson and Wecker. Instead I go all buffs so I do really good unlucky for ISU or buffs I pick stink and ISU wins. I get niether. By the way nice choice Chipper on taking the freshman Metoyer from CU. She killed us.

P.S. Zo3157, I couldn't find Chameka Scott on the Hooopla page, so I used your reserve... unfortunately that dropped you from 70 pts to 68, so use whichever number you prefer.

Well, I'm 8 sessions behind, but I'm starting to go through and tally up my version of the results from each session. I've gone through session 1 and I have two corrections - unless someone can find something wrong with my math.

First, TRH should have a score of 55, not 65.

Second, Zo3157 should have a score of 70, not 68. I think what was done here is that someone used his reserve in place of Chameka Scott who didn't play. That's not a valid reason to use the reserve. In this odd case, it actually ends up helping his score rather than hurting it.

Please adjust total overall scores - for those keeping count of that. I'll eventually get caught up with you guys and we can all double and triple check one another.
