Nebraska is up 31-16 over Kansas State with a little under 6 minutes to go first half. Cannon has 14 points.
Don't you just love the Big 12! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

NU 54, KSU 46 with 8 minutes to go. Wow, can they keep it up?
Unfortunately, Fox Sports Chicago is showing the game on tape delay, so I'm having to follow it online. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif

Jeez, I hope Chipper is able to watch this one... He ought to be happy!!
Final: NU 67, KSU 52! Cannon had one heck of a game.

As good as done - looks like Nebraska will win. You just know Sooner fans, there's no way KSU will play like that against us on Wednesday. What I'm surprised is how porous the KSU defense looks. Nebraska is driving at will and getting easy 5-8 footers. Cannon has a career high 27.
Nebraska wins 67-52.
So the game next Wednesday will not be for first place. BUT, if KSU wins, they will have the tiebreaker over Oklahoma if the two teams end up tied at the end of the season.
Bet Chipper is jumping with joy right now!
NU just took it to KSU in every way, and dominated them from start to end. By far their best performance of the year.
I'll bet the Sooners are breathing easier right now!

Another way to look at it: If ISU wins out and KSU loses to OU and Colorado, ISU would win the tiebreaker based on the better North division record. ISU could feasibly get a 2 seed.
Nebraska never trailed today. That is surprising.

Congrats to the Huskers!! Can't wait to see the 2nd half now on tv and find out exactly what they did and how they did it. NU even had both Cannon and Robinette with double-doubles, while KSU had Ohlde with 19 points and Wecker with 11, with neither over ten boards.

I kind of doubt the Sooners are breathing any easier........
the way Kansas State played today is not necessarily indicative of their "norm", especially at home. How many times have they shot that poorly from the perimeter in the first half?
Great game, Nebraska.........pressure man defense was the ticket today. And I really think their defense won the game for them; and I think Sanderford did a really, really good job keeping the players even-keel. Looked like Robinette showed why she was a highly recruited recruit.
Kudos to Nebraska!.......... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Wow.
I kept thinking K-State would make a run, but it just never happened.
I don't think they will be missing that many shots on Wednesday when OU comes to town.
Congrats to Nebraska! Cannon is something else.
Chipper, where are you? Can't wait to hear your response! Robinette didn't play like a freshman today.

Definately an impressive showing by NU. Robinette and Cannon were outstanding today. KSU looked like a good, but not great team today when the shots just weren't falling--funny how that happens. This confernce is really something.

So now all of the 'lower' teams in the conference except Kansas have beaten a ranked team.
Nebraska over KSU
A&M over Texas, ISU
OSU over KSU
Missouri over TTU
Wow! Wonder if KSU having 2 of their conference losses can be attributed to youth playing on the road? Not to take away anything from Nebraska--they didn't look like the Nebraska Chipper writes about. Still don't think they'll play that way at home against Oklahoma this week. I do hope they are a little bit spent from this game though. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

They certainly had to "play". Sure am glad, because OU didn't get much rest time vs A & M Saturday.
Lots of folks wondering how far Kansas State can go riding on the backs of these freshmen who are being asked to play soooo many minutes......."especially" on the road and adapting to this level.
Still think Nebraska played superb defense that won the game for them.......

My, you folks sure didn't take very good care of my team while I was away! I'm not sure I want to roll my tape of the game. Arrrgh!

That's a good point Jennifer. All of the lower tier teams are perfectly capable of jumping up and biting a ranked team at any time. I'm just as worried about playing at A&M and at OSU coming up as I am for home games with UT and CU.

I thought I was watching "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" on Fox Sports Net today.
Who WERE those women disguised in the Nebraska uniforms, and what have they done with the Cornhusker Women's basketball team??
CHIPPER, IF YOU ARE BEHIND THIS, PLEASE RELEASE KEASHA CANNON'S TEAMMATES IMMEDIATELY AND ALLOW THEM TO RETURN!
And whoever it was that was out there today, please don't allow them anywhere near the Kansas team on February 23. Thank you.
Another suspicious sign: Chipper predicted the Keasha Cannon component of today's score EXACTLY RIGHT!! Very eerie.
