Folks,
When you registered in order to submit a post in this forum you had to agree to several things. Let me remind you of a couple of specific things you agreed to:
"You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law."
AND
"To repeat, this bulletin board will NOT house idiotic, moronic, and otherwise immature postings meant only to verbally abuse others. These messages will be removed. Take this type of garbage elsewhere!"
Please remember what you have agreed to when making posts at HoopScoop.net. I can tolerate a one-time exception where someone may post something in the heat of the moment. However, repeated violations of the above policies will result in removal from this board.

Many thanks. I have been reading the discussion boards since the beginning of the season but only registered yesterday, mostly in an effort to support my struggling team and to be in contact with others who love women's basketball. The first post on the board was so inflammatory that I turned off the computer. I enjoy this site because it fosters a knowledgeable and respectful dialogue between the intense rivalries of the Big 12 conference. I appreciate you maintaining the mission and standards of this forum.

Chris,
thank you for reminding posters to refrain from trash talk. Hey, we post here because we like the women's basketball, the Big 12 and support the teams. No one wants to see the board used for the personal agenda of annihalating players, coaches or teams. The players and coaches are all just athletically talented people working in a competitive enviornment. We all want our teams to win. That doesn't mean you have to verbally destroy one team to support another. Where is your sportsmanship? You have my support, Chris. For those of you that have to destroy others to support your team, please stop. You are embarrassing those of us that enjoy the sport and love good competition between good teams.

Excellent post. We are all on here to support our favorite teams and talk basketball. My favorite team is ISU. My 2nd favorite is a tie between 11 others (guess who) from the Big 12. The Big 12 is a tough conference and the teams are going to beat up on each other night after night. Take the time to congratulate the winning team (even if it not your pick). We still have a long ways to go before the season is completely over. Let's all have some fun.

welcome, horntooter........welcome aboard.
You know, I think the only player I've considered truly "dirty" was Lynn Pride.....but then she kept getting all those technicals to support my opinion http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
I think sometimes fans forget that these are very "young" women, living away from home for the first time.....sleeping, living, eating basketball.
I'm certainly glad they make the sacrifice week in and week out!

swok, i'll ask you the same question i asked bobcat. did you see the tech-ut game? did you watch kenya every trip up and down the court? if you saw the game in person, then maybe you would understand what we are talking about. i don't know, maybe tech brings it out in her, but the 3 times i've seen her play tech, she's been dirtier than [insert expletive here]. if not a dirty player, in the least i would call her a disrespectful player. she has major attitude with the fans too. it's very unbecoming of her.

Well...I did go to the game last night and I watched a replay. It was a very physical game on both sides. I did not see Kenya do anything out of the ordinary. She will hold and grab as much as the refs will let her----just like everybody else on every other team. The instant the clock hit all zeroes, she jumped over to congratulate Jia on the game.
I definitely don't believe Kenya intended to hurt Jia when she committed the intentional foul. With her right hand, she tried to push Jia away from a good angle on the lay-up. With her left hand, she swiped at the ball in the traditional hack to prevent a lay-up. She probably hoped the push wouldn't be observed and an ordinary foul would be called. She exerted more force than intended, I would guess, and was called for an intentional foul. The call was correct and it was a hard foul and I did worry about Jia getting back up, but I don't think any harm was meant.
I've seen Tech players called for intentional fouls. And I've seen Tech players commit harder fouls than they meant. I've never believed they intended to harm another player.
Thank you, Chris. Well done.

I didn't see the game.......but I will never ever discuss a player's "personality".....I think the players of the Big XII are some of the best. I don't boo at games when players are introduced, and I don't appreciate those who do......actually here in Norman, we are pretty good about clapping for the opposing team (at least for women's basketball).
Nor do I know what happened before the game with TT fans and Texas players, but from a few posts I've read something occurred in that regard even before the game started. Rosalind Ross, OU, made a comment after the TT game in Lubbock, where her stat line was.....21 points, 12 rebounds......"they shouldn't have "booed".
I've seen Texas play in Norman this year and didn't find any member of their team a player I would consider "dirty" player.....
want to talk "dirty" play?......play Wichita State.
