The Lady Bears are always tough at home in Waco. Unfortunately KMR's ejection really seemed to further rattle Baylor so I don't know that using the game in Lubbock is a fair assessment of how these two teams will play each other in Waco.
I think its still true that Baylor has never beaten Tech? So, I expect Baylor to be really wired for this game.
So what are the keys to this game?

To win we must keep Crockrum off the boards, keep one of the Big Two under their average and make free throws. We seem to have that mental edge with BU, so let's hope the LR's are ready because you know BU will be.
I hope to be there live and in person. I have a feeling they'll need all the support they can get.

In a nutshell, like most games, making lay-ups or high percentage shots and free throws. The rest of the game evens out with basic percentages.
The other key is always, which team wants the ball more. Call it desire, heart, defense or speed. This will result in rebounds, possessions and ultimately points.
Coaching falls in place regarding matchups and capitalizing on them. Example, in the BU-OU game, BU had Blackmon, a freshamn, guarding Dales in the last 2-3 minutes. Just too much experience and star power on the OU side. OU went to her each time for 4-5 possessions in a row. Got a couple of fouls or hoops from Dales.
This is not in any way an indictment on KMR, just OU being able to play someone like Dales at the 4.

Sorry folks, accidentally sent the previous post twice, the rules won't allow me to erase one. Apparently, I haven't posted enough.
Chris---shouldn't any poster be able to edit or erase his own posts????
No complaint, just a question.

Hmmmmmm. Dunno. I didn't write the software so I couldn't really tell you. Doesn't matter if people post twice by accident. Just don't do it a hundred times http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif I erased one of them.

BU's Stasha Richards hustled her "you know what" off in the OU game, she was all over the court........
"Had surgery for compartment syndrome in both legs prior to the season".....what is this????????.....digging around Baylor's site, this note was about Chelsea Whittacker.

Yes BU has beaten Tech. It's just been 19 years! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
That streak ends in 2 days. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/bu.gif

Saturdays game should prove to be a good one in Waco. Baylor is at a critical point in the season where they need wins against Tech, Texas and Colorado at home.
Press and Metromaniac, you are both correct in that it will come down to mental toughness, which Baylor lacks at times. Sometimes I wonder if the Lady Bears really "want it" bad enough to win it! All the talent in the world won't help you if the desire and tenacity is not there. KMR should have the team ready for this game and I expect them to do well.
I was glad to see Jolee Ayers have a good game against Texas last night. She was the player that I based my prediction on as far as Tech beating Texas. She pulled a strong double double. What impressed me most about her performance in the Colorado game was how she took it to the basket. Maybe she will have an off night on Saturday.
After bragging about how well we were doing at the foul line, we blew it in Norman. Wow. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif Hopefully that will not develop into a trend.
I really look to see Baylor go inside and score in the paint. It will be a good game and I'm excited to think we may win one after all these years.
Maybe those little "guns up" will be loaded with blanks this time.

19 years.....that must have been Coach Sharp's 1st or 2nd season. Wouldn't want to end that streak and give her any more grey hairs than this season has already provided.
I know about three or four years ago..we won right at the buzzer with a Keitha Dickerson shot.
Hopefully we have now found our FT skills anew and that won't be problem.
If Tech brings the same mental toughness from the ISU game and the Jolee Ayers we've seen in the past few games, I think they can pull it off. But containing Lambert..that may be impossible.
