Detroit Shock defeated the Chinese National team 80-63.
Stacy played 13 minutes and had 11 points and 5 rebounds.
quote from Coach Bill Lambier"Stacy played well.She's the
type of player who can complement great players,and that's
what we need." That sounds awful positive for Stacy making
the squad,but you never know!

Rookie performs, hopes to earn spot
Stephens, a 6-1, 205-pound rookie from Texas, had 11 points (5 of 7 shooting) and five rebounds in 13 minutes.
+++++++++++++++++++++
Stephens, Jae Cross, Allison Curtin, Stacey Thomas and Isabel Sanchez are among five players trying to earn the final two roster spots. Teams must cut to 13 players (11 active) by Wednesday.
Yep, definitely an impressive outing. Time to wait & see.

Detroit waived Stacy Thomas. Stacy Stephens is on the roster unless someone knows something not on the WNBA site yet. Detroit also waived a guard, Isabelle Sanchez. That leaves the Detroit roster at 13 and Laimbeer said recently that he could only afford to keep 12. Stacy has a good chance. If Stacy doesnt't stick now, it is still clear that Laimbeer likes her and will keep her in mind for the future.

It continues to look good for Stacy. Seems like Lambieer is looking for a back-up post player and likes her style:

Stacy Stephens/Stacey Thomas -- 6 of 1/half a dozen of the other http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif LOL!
Well, that certainly explains the puzzle of why she would be cut after such a good game against China! Good, I'll be looking forward to seeing her play! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
