by only 2 points at the half, 30-28.

If that information is correct, then the Twister Sisters must have had a firecracker lit off in the locker room at halftime - because the latest score that I could find was 52-28 Cyclones, with 8:00 remaining in the game.

That would be a 22-0 run coming out the the locker room!

Whoops, looks like mred beat me to the punch, with a score a couple of minutes later in the game.

We should give credit to KU for playing the Cyclones tough to the half, however. This is a team that has every reason to give up on the season, but I think they have played their best 2 games in the last week.

That score is incorrect, then. ISU was up 36-28, 41-30, 45-34, and now 64-45. ISU really came alive in the second half, but not quite that alive. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

mred, thanks for the info. My head hasn't been stuck in the sand, and ISU appears to be playing like a house on fire right now.

They could be a very tough team to beat come conference tourney time!

Where did you find the score, anyway? Yahoo hasn't updated since halftime. I got mine from people listening to the game (until I got the KU feed and started listening myself).

Never mind. I see that espn.com has the score listed as 52-28. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Got mine from Yahoo just minutes ago, with them reporting the 24 point lead with 8:00 left in the game.

Looks like the wire is haywire. Anyway ISU just won, 75-50. Extremely balanced scoring for ISU, with all five starters scoring double-digits.

Sorry. Not all five starters, since Bremer didn't start.

Final Stats:
Gahan: 19 points (4-6 FG, 10-13 FT) 7 reb 4 ast 2 to; 23 hoopla points.
Paustian: 15 points (5-7 fg, 2-3 ft) 9 reb 3 ast 1 st 1 to; 24 hoopla points http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif Glad I picked her!
Bremer: 14 points (6-11 FG 2-5 ft) 4 reb 2 blk 1 to; 11 hoopla points.
Welle: 12 points (4-9 fg 4-4 ft) 14 reb 2 ast 1 st 1 blk 1 to; 24 hoopla points.
Wilson: 11 points (3-13 fg (ouch) 3-4 fg) 2 reb 9 ast 6 to; 6 hoopla points (double ouch)

ISU only turned it over 11 times, which is likely a season low. Surprising considering how physical Kansas' defense usually is.

I think the reason the girls were slow in the first half was they had travel problems. They were flying with a charter flight from Ames. They had some radio problems and had emergency land in Des Moines. The airport had emergency vechiles on the runaway because they didn't know if the landing gear was working. So they ended up busing down and got there at 5:00 in time to get ready for the game.

The AP story was a little more specific. Apparently, the plane had radio problems that delayed the takeoff. After teh plane finally took off, they had landing gear problems and were forced to land in Des Moines (Fennelly was happy that he didn't know the nature of the problem until after they landed). A bus arrived to take tehm to Kansas, but it parked on ice and they had to put sand down to give it traction before it would move.
