As a former season ticket holder for the Lady 'Backs of the U of Arkansas I keep tabs here...the Lady 'Backs took care of #9 South Carolina on Sunday and disposed of #6 Vanderbilt tonight.
Vandy and Tennessee duke it out this weekend for the bragging rights to Tennessee.
Texas gets their shot against Tennessee in a couple of weeks in Knoxville. A bit early perhaps but what do the rest of you thnk about this game on Feb 12? Yes...even this Tech fan will be pulling for Texas. I used to really like Tennessee, but the last 3 years, there's something missing and I just can't really like them any more.
What does Texas need to do to beat Tennessee?

HOOK EM HORNS! PLay with the drive they did against K-State and just hit some shots. I respect that OTHER UT but I think it is well within my UT's capabilty to win this game. I wish it was in Austin however.

I agree with KSUron. However, if Texas cannot get more consistent guard play (shooting), forget it. We have the dominant inside game, but our outside shooting has been terrible. We are young, but have the capability. I am very nervous about this game. On the road will be very tough.

I just don't think Tennessee is a team you beat at home.
I don't see Vanderbilt beating them, Vanderbilt is not as athletic as Tennessee.......
did Arkansas all of a sudden turn on the juice???? I try to keep up with LSU since I followed them when I lived in Louisiana.

Usually Texas plays Tennessee before the conference race begins and it is a really big deal. Being played in February, imo, the Tennessee game is less important and of less interest to me than the game against Texas A&M tommorrow. Of course, I hope the Horns aren't blown out and I'd be euphoric with a win. The big thing is that if the Horns are blown out, they can't afford to give it much emotion after the fact.

HOOK 'em HORNS! I always root for Big 12 teams against "furinners", but a win against Tennessee would be especially sweet this year!

Texas fought a hard fight against the Lady Vol's last year and we are a better team this year. Beating them at home is unlikely, but possible ... and oh wouldn't it be sweet?
How many on this board are going to the final four in San Antonio?

Arkansas beat a Geterless South Carolina, but yes, they look as tho they are turning up the juice, not the same team SMS beat early on. Both wins were at home tho... Vandy got bumped a lot and apparently isn't a team that likes to get physical. Ark can be very, very quick. They have a stong recruiting class coming in next year too.

We have tickets for the Final4...in the nosebleed section but we'll take what we can get.
It will be interesting to see how Arkansas fares on the road for the rest of the season. They have Tenn and Florida on the road and Georgia and LSU at home still to go.
Also...watch out for the UNM Lady Lobos (Tech remembers them well). They are 16-5, won their 11 of their last 13 games, knocked off #19 CSU the other night
see http://espn.go.com/ncw/dish2001/10.html
Having teams like UNM and Arkansas knock off ranked teams...continues to help Tech's and other teams SOS.
