Baylor beats Nebraska with a final of 74 to 62. Nebraska only had 17 first half points and Baylor cleared the bench during most of the second half. It got a little ugly at the end. Baylor played excellent defense in the first half. Wow, Stephanie Jones plays a ROUGH, TOUGH game. I was impressed with her. Paul Sanderford drew a technical foul and I thought he might get a second one before the discussion ended.
Van Chancelor was doing a little scouting at the game tonight. Cynthia Cooper had been in town a couple of weeks earlier.

Hmmm...the Comets got Lassiter last year...wonder if they're looking at Crockram or Lambert?

One source says Lambert and another says Crockrom.

I saw Blackmon had another good game. Looks like she'll be ready to take over next year where DC left off.
As o mentioned it was not as close as the score indicated, but NONETHELESS, Chipper gets kudos for almost predicting the exact score. I think he had BU winning 74-61.

I would think that Houston would be looking at Sheila Lambert more than DC. The Comets already have Swoopes and Lassiter at the forward spots, so I would think they would need a 2 or 1 in Sheila.

Not the prettiest game in the world, but one set of numbers pretty much explains the outcome.
At the half:
Nebraska - 17 points, 18 turnovers
Baylor - 17 steals
I don't think I've ever seen a half like that. Nebraska came out in the second half and played hard and well, but the hole was wasy too big. I agree with you, Zo, about Jones. She played full out for the last 20 minutes. In fact all 16 of her points were in the second half.
If BU hadn't played at home tonight, I had thought about driving to Austin for KSU/UT. Definitely would've seen a better game.

A strange game. Crockrum and Lambert where solid numberwise, but man they attacked us from the tipoff and never left up. I was swtiching to the KSU-Texas game once the score was at 33-9.
Caught most of the second half.
Baylor's defense was unbelievable. When you get 24 steals in a ballgame, that is unreal. The scoreboard lies in this case. This was a poor game for Nebraska, and again this team decided to embarass themselves.
I give the Bears a lot of credit. I would have liked to have seen the score by more of an indication of their ability. To think that Nebraska could play as poor as they did and only lose by 12 is an insult to how decisively Baylor beat them.

Everything I hear is that Cooper really, really wants Lambert..
she was also scouting the OU/TAMU game looking at Dales and Caufield.....doubt Dales will still be available for Phoenix.
