Wow, I would have expected a little higher halftime score.

Huge foul!

Trisha just got her fourth foul, OU leading by 4. 8:27 to play.

And OU pulls it out. 66-58, although it was closer than that.

OU won 66-58, pulling away very late. It is, unbelievably, the first game the Sooners have played this year where the outcome was in doubt in the final 2 minutes of the game.

When Skibbe fouled out with about 2 minutes to go, that seemed to seal OSU's fate.

BTW, my Hoopla reserve, Stacey Dales, scored 29 points tonight.

Not that I wish anything bad on any Big 12 player, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if someone in my starting 5 missed a team meeting or something, and got benched for one game!

Whew, OU pulls it out.

Interesting: OU pulls out a win where KSU couldn't. KSU pulls out a win where OU couldn't. Both teams are at a tie at 7-1 in conference.

Dales is really coming on now. She has a career high tonight of 29 points, 17 in second half, 7 rebounds, 4 assists. She took the game over when Hill and Caufield seemed like they were fouling more than scoring.

I listened to the 2nd half...wow a bit of a tough road for OU. Coach Coale wasn't overly happy with the defense. Dales just wasn't going to let this game get away. Jackson did a nice job too.

Skibbe fouled out and that really hurt OSU.

Game was tied a couple of times...

How much of the game's closeness does everyone think has to do with the in-state rivalry factor?

Yep - just doesn't matter who's number 4 in the nation and who is 11-9 overall. Game always has the chance to be just a physical battle.

Plus, didn't help Hill have one of the worst games of her career. And Caufield not waking up until about 4 minutes to go in the game.

Those Cowgirls are coming on again. They won't finish in the top half but they might spoil some parties.

I had to go to the OSU website to find out who this Trisha Skibbe is. I read "Trisha chose Oklahoma State over Ole Miss, Wichita State and Tulsa." Good job by Oklahoma State to recognize her potential.

Hope all the Sooner fans made it back okay. Just as the game was ending a major ice storm really began to bare down hard from Stillwater to Enid. Those locations will likely get hit very hard - hopefully not too many people will lose power.

Here in Norman we just went below freezing with light to moderate rain. Should rain all day Wednesday with temps falling into 20s. Hmmm, maybe I better go buy a generator and a pair of ice skates.

Thank goodness this game wasn't to be played Wednesday night.

Sorry for all the meteorological info. I'm a meteorologist - and a weather weenie. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

That is pretty cool! Do you chase storms by any chance?

I guess you'll always have the schoop on the weather wherever OU is playing. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

lol.........I stayed in Norman in front of my TV this game, was going to drive up, but didn't want to take a chance on weather.

Huge win for a team that couldn't get a soul to click on all cylinders and a great, great KUDO's to Stacey Dales for knowing it was time to show what she's made of and shut up the naysayers. There is a great article in the paper today about Stacey Dales, I'll post the link on the front page.......and Action Jackson was absolutely fantastic, she actually was the only one who could hit a field goal in the first half.......

the play where Jackson drives to the basket and draws the 5th foul on Skibbee......the camera's at OSU are from higher up than some arena's and I couldn't see who was driving.....I was sitting there yelling......way to go Laneisha, way to go.....because it looked so much like a Laneisha play rather than a Jackson play.......Great, great job this freshmen did. Caton Hill comments that she has played worse in her life (last yr vs Wisconsin).....though she couldn't hit a shot to save her life.....she did stay in the game and provide defense and rebounds....the Sooner Sports Network TV's Ed Murray decided at halftime that this was "exciting ugly basketball".....1st half; ugly, ugly for OU.....no one could hit the side of a barn the first 10 minutes unless they were firmly planted on the free throw line, turnovers, etc.

Sure am glad we are done with Bedlam early this year. Oklahoma State has puzzled me for the past 2 years AND they continue to do so. The first game is always a blowout, no matter where it's played and the second game is always a edge of the seater.....I thought maybe it was OU Senior Night that affected OU's play in the second game the last 2 years......but after last nights game, I don't have a clue.....OU/OSU the last 2 years have not even met until February.

It's a win and it's over and we brought the crystal bell home for another year.........and now, Texas, beat Kansas State.... go http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ut.gif

I am dreading our next game with OSU. They always play us tough at home, and this year they gave us all we wanted here. Hope Amber is on when we play them because she has been the difference against them the last two years when we played them there.
