Baylor'sSheila Lambert was named Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the week and Kansas State'sLaurie Koehn earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week in
a vote of a media panel for gamesplayed from Jan. 21-27.

Lambert, a 5-7 senior guard, led Baylor to two Big 12 victories last week, beating Texas A&M 95-61 at home and posting a road win over No. 13 Texas 80-70. It was Baylor's third straight win over the Longhorns. For the week she averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 assists, 4.5 steals and 3.0 rebounds. In addition the Seattle, Wash., native was 16-of-27 from the floor for 59.3 percent, 3-of-4 (.750) from three-point range and 9-of-12 (.750) from the free throw line. Against UT, she tallied a game-high 26 points, 18 of which came in the first half, and added seven assists, four steals and five rebounds. In the final 1:30 with Texas threatening, she hit a 3-pointer and a free throw, dished out an assist, stole the ball and grabbed a rebound to preserve the victory. Lambert has led the Lady Bears in scoring in 11 of their 19 games this season and ranks among the Big 12's leaders in scoring, assists and steals.

Koehn averaged 17 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 3.5 three-pointers and 37 minutes per game in victories over Kansas and No. 12/13-ranked Texas Tech. The 5-8 freshman guard shot 73.3 (11 of 15) percent from the field, 77.8 (7 of 9) percent from three-point range and 71.4 (5 of 7) percent from the foul line. In a win over cross-state rival Kansas, Koehn had 21 points, five rebounds, two assists and five three-pointers. The 20-plus point performance was the seventh of her career. She shot 60 percent from the field, 71.4 percent from beyond three-point range and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe. Against Texas Tech, Koehn had 13 points, a rebound, a steal and two three-pointers. She was perfect for the game as she hit 5-for-5 from the field, 2-for-2 from three-point range and 1-for-1 from the free-throw line. With her two treys, Koehn moved into a tie for sixth on the Big 12 single-season chart for three-pointers in a season (80). The Hesston, Kan., native is tied with Megan Taylor of Iowa State (2001). In 21 games, Koehn is first in scoring (18.1) and three-pointers (80). In Big 12 games, she is third in scoring (16.8), first in field goal percentage (.557), three-pointers (24), and third in steals (8).
