View Full Version : Erica Junod
Erica Junod has been cleared to practice. Coach Fennelly told the crowd at his monthly chat with the public on campus that it's now a matter of when she comes back this season, not "if".

I thought she had received an injury redshirt this year. Wouldn't it be better long term to save her for the extra year?
She already has an injury redshirt from her first year at Iowa State (she got mono). If I understand the rules right, she could petition the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility (and she'd likely get it) but she may not have any desire to spend six years at ISU.

Good news about Juneau. If she can be a contributor for post season, that could be a big, big help to ISU.

Don't remember where it was I read it, but a while back I heard that Junod was not eligible for another redshirt season. No reason was given for why not, so I don't know the logic behind it. I think that may have been a factor in her really working hard to come back this season - since it would have been lost otherwise.

The Des Moines Register said today that Erica could be playing as soon as Feb. 9 (home game vs. Colorado) She practiced yesterday and even scrimmaged as a member of the scout team. This is very good news!

That's great news for Erica and ISU. It's just amazing how quickly they get players back on the court these days. I guess the real test will be how much it will slow her down. I hope she has good luck getting back.
