Nebraska 64 Oklahoma St 41
Great game out of Alexa Johnson (21 pts and 6 rebounds) and Keasha Cannon/Johnson (11 pts & 6 boards) for the Huskers tonight. Jina Johansen and Chelsea Aubrey also played well. Margaret played well also but never shot that much. Oklahoma St. seemed to play great one minute and then they seemed out of sinc the next. Looked as though they tired toward the end. Trish Skibbe led the Cowgirls with 14 pts and 9 boards.
It's now on to Kansas State Saturday for a game the Wildcats are looking to as a payback game. The Huskers have got to get quality minutes out of the everybody if they want to get a second victory over the Wildcats.
Heather Kephart finally got back on the court and immediately got into the scoring column narrowly missing a three pointer because her big toe was on the line.
It was a great week for seeing ex-Huskers as coaches the past two games in Devaney. Spoke with KU assistant Kate Galligan last Saturday evening and good to see she is doing very well in Lawrence.
And then tonight I spoke with OK State assistant Coach Amy Gusso/Williams and was very impressed with her demeaner on the sideline. I especially liked her passion, desire, fire and spirit she exhibited toward her team. She even did the old Angela Beck stomp with her foot! I was really hoping she would take her coat off and toss it in the face of one of the other assistant coaches so it would really seem like old times.
Congratulations to Amy on her recent marriage to her husband Lloyd. I along with many other Husker fans wish both of them the best of luck in their new life together.
