Ain't the Big XII tough? Wow...this gets the Big XII even tougher. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif BU closes out the game with a 9-0 run! Amazing...they weren't going to let the cardiac kids win another close one.

Congrats to Baylor. Winning at the Drum is never easy. I knew Baylor had it in them to win a big game on the road (no knocks against Mizzou). Up 42-33 at the half. Bowers had another very good game...took the team on her shoulders and continues to show a lot of leadership...geez we have 3 more years to look forward to this http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif kind of play from this freshman.

Lambert is so very dangerous. IMO she is perhaps the most dangerous player in the league...she can turn it on and glide past everyone before they even know she's there.

What a conference!

Just back from Austin. Winning is always nice, winning at the Drum, devine. (Used to be impossible.)

Earlier I said Stephens is no longer scary; I take that back. She is really an awsome player. I'm glad the Horns didn't try to get her the ball more often. She's about the most physical player I've seen underneath. We'd double and tripple her, but if she got the ball, she'd muscle up a shot. Have to give this win to the BU defense.

Another good game in the Big 12.

When Lambert hit that late three, it seemed to kind of do in the Longhorns. After working so hard to get to within 1 point of Baylor, the Horns did not play well the last 2 minutes. Tracy Cook could not match up with Crockrom but the Longhorns found a way to deal with that. I'd say Crockrom and Stephens were kind of a wash. Lambert was a big, big, problem for the Horns today. She is so fast and she was really hitting her shots. The 2 early fouls on Larkin hurt the Horns.

This loss really hurts in the Big 12 race. The Longhorns need to get the win in Waco. That will be difficult but not impossible by any means. The Horns did not play good enough defense, particularly in the first half. They can do better. They can also do better at the free throw line. Improvement in those 2 areas can give the Longhorns a better chance in Waco.

I can be glad that Crockrom and Lambert are seniors. Yeah! Stephens, Schreiber, and Bowers will be back.

Was at the game. Lambert was the DIFFERENCE in this game. She requires a lot of attention and frees up other players. Glad she is a senior. And Bearskin, while Stacy is definitely a scary player as you said, I did not think she was that good today. Oh she had a double double, but as you said, we did not try to get her the ball enough. Also, just wondering why Hastings did not get more minutes guarding Crockrom. Tracy Cook is not the answer against a quick leaping team like Baylor. MR did a great job of starting basically 3 guards at the beginning of the game. The quickness hurt us a lot. I have to keep telling myself what a young team we are. Will be interesting to see Baylor next year without Crockrom and Lambert. They are two mega stars.

UT just can't beat Baylor. Baylor plays like the national championship is on the line when the play UT. Could this be that MR knows something about Jody's teams others don't.

Just out of curiosity Lady Bear fans, why the heck can't you all beat TTU?

And by the way, great game Lady Bears! That was definitely the best team to visit the Erwin Center this year (or the morgue as local dj's call it. We just can't get people out for the games, men or womens.)

This post could probably go under match-ups but seems as if Mulk got the edge in the first half by starting Nicole Collins, 5'3" against the taller slower Lady Horns. So, coaching, the next huge difference is the gross disparity between Lambert and Larkin.

Another question I have is how can Schreiber get only one rebound?

match ups are funny in the Big 12......

like why can't OU beat Iowa State?
and didn't Iowa State have all kinds of trouble with Kansas the last couple of years?
and why can't Baylor beat Texas Tech?
and why does Oklahoma State always manage to spoil a good party?
and just when you think Texas is unstoppable at home, they drop one......

Life in the Big 12! What a ride it is as a fan http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Yes Iowa State has problems with Kansas. Last year in Kansas was ugly.

Gro, BU doesn't play like it's the nat'l championship when we play UT. We're simply the better team. It'll be a blowout in the return game in Waco before a national television audience on espn2. Not talking smack. Just an honest opinion.

BU will finally get that Tech hex off our backs on Feb 9.

Lady Bears will finish 11-5 in the Big 12 after starting 1-3. 2 more losses will come: at OU, at ISU. Yes, I'm a soothsayer.

Bearskin, you always seem to talk smack. It is so easy to do when you have a good team. And that you have this year. But as I stated earlier, it will be interesting to see your team next without Crockram and Lambert. Then we will see if those lips are smacking as fast and hard. Don't think your recruiting has been that great overall, and Crockrom and Lambert wil be hard to replace.

Smack? I guess I don't know the definition. On other boards, I see a lot of negative talk about opponents in an apparent effort to denegrate the team &/or school.

I wasn't aware it was "smack" to be cautiously optimistic about my school and predict good things for it.

By the way, you are a longhorn fan, right? Did I say Stephens wasn't very good Saturday, or did you?

Are you freaking clueless BIG UT? We brought quite a few down there. I take it you weren't at the game. It would have been more but many made the trip to the Ferrell Center as a record crowd watched the men play UT.

Mark my words, it WILL be a blowout. It WILL be an embarrassment on national TV and there WILL be a loud, rowdy crowd on hand to savor it. When Mulkey plays UT it is custom that this happens.

By the way, we'll see if we're overrated. We've won 3 conference games in a row, and it should be 5 consecutive wins by Saturday evening. I'm sticking with my 11-5 prediction. It's not smack if you can back it up.

Now, I'll get back to that "life" I need here at work http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif Have a nice day.

Mulkey inherited the nucleus of her team with a few exceptions. Let's see what happens next year. By the way, I was at the game.....Now drop it.

Big Ut, ok I'll "drop it." I didn't think there was a problem 'til you started in.

By the way, I'm one of the more veteran posters on this forum. I've followed the Lady Bears for years. I've seen some good years. I've seen some bad years. But I'll always be a fan.
I guess I'll just have to cope with being classless and an embarrassment to this forum in your eyes. Oh the horror!

All joking aside, lighten up. Don't take this forum so seriously. I hope your day gets better.

Interesting that you Baylor fans always run your mouths first. When we UT fans respond, we are the problem. You don't hear us predicting blowouts or anything like that. That is stupidly arrogant. But from Southern Baptists, what more could we expect. We will see if it is a blowout. If it is, so be it. I'll take our team the next 3 years over what I see with your group. You sound like somebody who has never played sports. Live through other athletes. WHATEVER!!!!!

Ouch. Cardinal rules of sports boards: #1. Don't attack a person's religion. #2. Don't attack a person's politics. I'm not Southern Baptist (I'm not any kind of Baptist) but I find this statement quite offensive.

Hoopscoop is like a big family. Sure we all pick on one another from time to time and sometimes it can get a little personal. But this is truly uncalled for, Chris, please lock this thread. I was afraid that with so many new people online posting that this might happen. It's up to us "old-timers" to be on guard and educate the newbies on proper Hoopscoop etiquette.

Yes, I was insulted at Bearskin and his remarks, but, maybe it's just me, but I do see some pretty rude comments directed to UT. AS I have stated before and will state again, it is always okay for Tech, Baylor and whomever to attack UT and when we respond, boy are we bad. The Baptist thing was probably in poor taste. Some venting of childhood experience there. I went too far. But you others always talk smack and never want anything said back to you. And as far as me saying Stephens did not play well last Saturday, she didn't. I am not trashing her. It was a simple observation. If you dish it out, get ready to take it back.

BigUTfan when you reply with a quote, could you please type your text outside of the [quote} [/quote]. By typing inside those codes it makes it look like what you are saying is what I said. It gets awfully confusing.
