It seems to me that you need an exception to prove the rule.

So RaiderPower, did I see several Tech players contesting calls today? Or did I watch a different game.
Sorry, just couldn't resist.

I didn't post on the earlier thread, but I will respond to your retort. You may have seen some players questioning a call. That happens. Generally, players are not too intimidated by the officials to question calls, ask for clarification, complain that a foul was missed, etc. Players on all teams commonly do that. I don't think you saw any Lady Raiders throwing temper tantrums. If so, specify the individual and at what point in the game it occurred.
KSU may have gotten a little home cookin' today. That sometimes happens for teams on their homecourt with a boisterous crowd supporting them. That is the nature of home court advantage and is part of the game. Tech has enjoyed similar benefits at times. The Longhorns were the beneficiary of those breaks in Austin. In spite of that, some UT player(s) had the gall to hop around and holler when officials exhibited the audacity to call legitimate fouls against them. I think that was the point of the earlier thread. Now, if some Wildcat players had reacted that way in today's game, your analogy might be relevant. I certainly did not see that happen. They exhibited the heart and class that all expected.
I admit I think the whole thing was overblown in the first place. To the best of my recollection, Annissa Hastings was the primary perpetrator (possibly Larkin too...can't remember). The refs let it go, as they should have. In a game with less seasonal and emotional significance or in a game not so closely contested, Anissa probably would have been teed up. I'm glad it didn't happen in that situation. A game as important and hard-fought as the Tech-UT game in Austin should not be decided by technical free throws unless it is utterly unavoidable. I don't know, but I'm guessing that Annissa doesn't behave that way routinely. Again, it was a big game. I didn't post on the other thread because it all seemed pretty inconsequential to me. However, if you plan to revive the issue from time to time; I think perhaps it is worthwhile to identify the relevant distinctions.

Well, in the last silly whining, RaiderPower claimed that TTU women were not allowed to question a call. The whole "our girls are impecably behaved all the time" attitude was just silly and immature. I will post no more on the topic. Just couldn't resist.

grojc...please email me at JeffRangel@sprintpcs.com to further this argument. I will not post on this board about what you said because you are clearly flaming.

Originally posted by two cents: Why do you always have to bring up the Lady Horns when someone is questioning TT? I agree with the earliere post, so why don't you just let it rest and move on with it. It is quite evident that TT is not the team it was or has been, and I particular think Sharp is a great coach, but shut up already about how the TT ladies do not react to calls and leave the Lady Horns out of it.
