After a close game at half (Oklahoma was up 33-29 at halftime), Oklahoma is blowing the Aggies away in the 2nd half. Just about midway through the 2nd half and Oklahoma has outscored A&M 27-2 so far.

There have been 56 (yes, 56) turnovers in the game. Regardless of the final score, Coach Coale is not going to be a happy camper with 24 turnovers and counting.

PPPPPPPPP UUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

What an ugly game. Don't know the final turnover count - but it is near 60 and well over 50% of those were by teams own doing. Lots of walking and fumbling the ball out-of-bounds.

The Sooners hold A&M to 11 2nd half points. A&M sounded like a high school team over the radio.

The A&M victory over Iowa State has to be the most puzzling final score I've ever seen in my life.

But Coach Coale is pleased with the game saying the defensive effort was outstanding - especially in the 2nd half.

Public pronouncement - followed by private tongue-lashing?

We can't play this way against any of about 8-9 teams in the Big 12, or we will get beat. Surely the team knows this.

It was really good to see the players from the local area get into the box score, however.

One great note from the game. Caton had another double-double and has now tied former Sooner great, Phylesha Whaley, for most career double-doubles. Caton will undoubtedly go on to absolutely smash this record into oblivion.

Without a doubt - she is a plugger, and maybe our most unappreciated starter. If not Caton then Jamie. Phylesha Whaley is a legend!

BTW, schooner, there were 62 TO's in the game. We tied our season high with 26, while the Ags had a abysmal 34.

I think the micro-crowd for the game played a factor in the sloppiness in this game. I think OU probably pulls more fans for scrimmages. What's wrong in College Station - why can't they give any support to their basketball team?

I wouldn't even go watch A&M play, unless another good team came to play them. You win, they come. That simple. A&M was drawing fine back in the SWC days when they actually won a regular season title or SWC Tourney title.

I'm not say that the starters didn't have their share of turnovers, but the bench certainly did......would be interesting to know how many travelling calls there were....because there were a whole, whole bunch.

Heck, they've been off a week and did what it took to put the game away in the 1st 5 minutes of the second half.....really good to see that. They've been practicing half-time (just like the football team had to).

Good news! Everyone played, everyone except Simon scored a basket...and the starters got a great deal of rest.....got to prepare for those orange girls on Tuesday nite, ya know!....

The series between OU & OSU the last couple of years has been interesting....OU's always played early February in Stillwater and blown them out of the gym....OSU has come to Norman on senior night and it's been a dogfight to win.........so this game Tuesday nite will be interesting.

Turnovers only kill you when the other team capitalizes, usually via fast break. Many of OU turnovers last night were when the ref's could have called a foul on a rebound, or a defensive act, but instead, and the girl fell to the ground or moved her pivot foot due to the contact, then they chose to call a turnover. Therefore, it wasn't like steal,,,, fastbreak,,, equals points off a turnover.

Playing before so few people and such a random, undisciplined, yet fast and athletic team seems to create more turnovers. Didn't OU have like 24 turnovers last year in Boulder in the first game there and still win by 20?

Due to their style of play, OU seems to be able to break the mold that you must have under 15 turnovers to be successful.

You play a bottom rung team on the road, get in, get out, win by 30 or so, and move on.
