Game hasn't started yet, so there's not much to say. I just wanted to point out that Angie Welle is 17 points from breaking Megan Taylor's record for career points at ISU.

You can watch the game starting right now on a few Fox Sports stations.

I see Bill is wearing one of those electrowhatever bracelets...a lot of people are wearing those these days. I wonder if they actually work?

ISU is getting some pretty bad calls from the refs with the fouls on Welle and the over the back call on the other girl(didn't catch her name).

Welle is now the all time leading scorer at ISU now with 1868 pts. Congratulations to her!

Hopefully that win will get the ladies back on track. It was SO nice to see contributions from some of the bench players. Mary Fox played as well as I've seen her and Cofield hit some shots and seemed to play a little better defense. Tracy Paustian also looked much better than recent games.

Maybe Tracy Gahan read another of my posts where I called her a role player, and it ticked her off, because she sure didn't play like one today! She is so dangerous when she drives from the wing like she was doing today. It adds another dimension to her game!

It got a little sloppy toward the end....mostly because of some tenacious defense by the Huskers! Big Red looked MUCH improved since January. They are definitely a team on the rise!

Good win for the Twister Sisters! Take it a game at a time and see what happens!

I was impressed with Nebraska today. I thought ISU played very well, but Nebraska stayed in the game. It didn't help that ISU was without Bremer (ankle injury) and Welle sat out the last 13:00 of the first half with two fouls.

Welle had 2 points and 0 rebounds in the first half. She had 16 and 10 in the second. All of the big three had great games for ISU, led by Gahan with 23.

ISU hit a LOT of threes today. I don't know the exact number yet, but it was around 16. Nebraska had trouble covering everyone on the perimeter.

Nebraska played a scrappy game...except at the beginning of the 2nd half...they let ISU open up too big of lead. But I was impressed at the grit NU showed, they never gave up, played some nice defense in the lst 2 minutes with some nice steals. Earlier in the year, they would have given up. Robinette and Johnson both played well but Canon was terrific...22 pts

Welle gets all the press, but I thought the difference was Gahan. She made some huge 3 pointers that really made it hard for NU to sustain a run and pulled down some big defensive boards. Rebounds were really close in the 1st half, but ISU took over in the 2nd half.

Chipper...you should be proud of the Husker women...they played with heart today.

I also thought that Nebraska looked like a totally different team from the one that lost in Ames a couple of weeks ago. Very confident and aggressive from start to finish, and if Iowa State had not been so accurate from the three-point line this one could definitely have gone down to the wire.

(Happy it didn't though. I've had enough gut-churners to last for a while.)

Just back from the game. Chipper I was impressed with Canon. This team was totaly different than the one that play in Ames. I don't know if it was having Canon or having the bye and extra planing or they knew that ISU was on a losing streak.
