I've previously stated that I am trying to archive official scores for the BB games of Big 12 teams for this year, not just from the Big 12 schools but from their opponents as well.
I am running into a LOT of serious anomalies regarding the reporting of those scores, and I'm starting to think that a campaign may be needed in order to pull some schools into line regarding the reporting of offical box scores to the fans of the Big 12.
For HoopScoop - my first question regarding those scores is, do you have a source of undeniably official scores of which I am not aware? I've tried the NCAA but can't find anything there, and although I haven't gotten through all of the scores to date, there have been several games for which I haven't been able to get an official box from either school.
My second question is (if your answer to my first question is no) would you consider helping to sponsor a group appeal to the Big 12 member schools to ensure accurate reporting of official statistics, because I couldn't take on this task all by myself.
Besides, if a group of people are involved in appealing for freely provided accurate information, it is far more effective than one single person.
When I get up to date on the logging of "official box scores", I'd like to give a State of the Conference report on what I have found and what I am continuing to find, and start a serious discussion regarding about where the reporting deficiencies exist, and how those can be reduced or (preferably) eliminated.
I'm not about to go shouting to different Big 12 schools about the way they go about their business, but if we could suggest a mandate, based upon our intelligent discourse regarding this matter, then perhaps we could make a difference.
I do know that in order to get respect your attitude must be one of consistency and honesty, and I believe that if this particular topic is first approached HERE from that point of view that we can make a significant difference, both in terms of our effectiveness as a group from HoopScoop, and in the general opinion of our conference's institutions as well. This can do nothing but positive good for our conference as well.
Any thoughts?
