I listened to Sherri Coale's radio show last night and she talked about the 3 "guards" that she has coming in next year.
didn't talk about the post players.....
anyway, interesting comment was that she felt Chelsi Welsh and Dionnah Jackson would compliment each other and she felt Chelsi would make an impact in her freshmen year......was having a great senior year.
Erin Higgins did tear her ACL and has had her surgery, her high school team is still ranked #1 in 6A. She also spoke of Laura Andrews.....

- Was talking with someone about this yesterday. What position does Chelsi play? Point or off-guard. Cuz we can see Dionnah may primarily be suited for point, but can also play off-guard.
2-guard is what I'm most worried about next year. Looks like we have bodies to fill all other positions. Sure could have used Seeley next season, but obviously she's found something else that works much better for her.

I get the impression she is a 2 guard......Lubbock folks???, what postition does she play in high school (that doesn't seem to be a factor at OU ...seems most everyone on OU's team has spent some time at the post in high school.
btw....I watched Jadrea Seeley/OBU play a couple of nights ago, Cox televised their game with Oklahoma Christian.....OBU lost, someone on the team needs to score besides Jadrea. The announcer mentioned that Jadrea was #2 leading scorer in the national division overall.

I only got a chance to see Welch play one time. There are a few on RaiderPower that have seen her play HS and AAU several times. She was not the point guard in the game I saw. Plainview ran a motion offense, without big post in the middle. I'd guess Welch was playing the 2 or 3. I was trying to concentrate on Tech's two recruits in that game. I did see her make some very good shots and defensive plays and thought she was an impressive basketball player.

I kept trying to remember something I heard on the KREF radio this AM...James Hale had Brian Brinkley (OU's play by play radio guy).....they thought that overall Laneisha Caufield was the leader for POY right now....
But I really like what Brian commented when talking about Stacey Dales......."if she doesn't score 20 points a night, shoot 50%, grab 9 rebounds, dish out at least 8 assists and have a couple of steals..........we think she's had a "bad" game..... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
lol, how true, the expectation that has been placed on Stacey Dales has been huge and she's not really that far off her last year's stats....ok, maybe assists...but there are far more contributing to that stat this year.
