Now why can't Baylor play like this when Tech goes to Waco??? http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif

Maybe Colorado can give us some tips... not to knock Baylor but I think some are underestimating Colorado. The Bears are playing better in the 2nd half 39-25

Very impressive...I listened for a while when Kansas was down by less than 10 but then Ms. Stacy turned it on.
OSU made a layup with only a few seconds left to beat TAMU 67 to 65.

Colorado downs Baylor 69-59.

Colorado pulls it out 69 to 59 but wow did Baylor play terrific defense in the 2nd half.
That's a good win for Colorado, and a "good loss" for Baylor. Colorado beats a ranked team on the road and shows they deserve their ranking, and Baylor plays solid and competitive to the end and shows they deserve their ranking too.

K State won 95-59. Chelsea started for Coggins this game. Ohlde had 30+ again. Sad to hear that Tiffany Brooks left the team in order to focus on school. Kendra Wecker didn't score in double figures for the first time since her freshman year, but Koehn found her 3 point shot. good game, Colorado will be an awesome game for us on Saturday.

Just goes to show you that you can't take the first 10 minutes off in any Big 12 game and expect to win it. The Bears looked lost, but a great deal of that had to do with Colorado's defense. Kim said after the game that the Buffs have the best help-side defense in the league, and it showed. Plus it took us about the same amount of time to figure out how to stop CU from getting wide open shots.
I am proud of the effort to come back. We got it to within 6, then Tera went straight at Steffanie, who was in foul trouble. She scored 6 straight easy buckets, and that was the end of the run. It was very obvious that the Buffaloes are a confident, senior-laden team. They kept it together even with the press we put on 'em the second half. Heck if they hadn't gone 4-26 or something like that from 3-point land, it would have been alot worse.

Colorado's first half defense and rebounding was outstanding. Had Waner and Fagan been hitting their shots in the fist half, the lead might have been 30 or more at halftime.
I knew Baylor would make a run, and they did. Sounds like Emily Niemann is going to be a great player, and Sophia Young is a monster on the boards. Baylor showed a ton of heart getting back in the game, but sometimes when you get almost all the way back it is extremely hard to get over that final 6 points or so.
CU will need a full 40 minute defensive effort and will need to shoot much better in order to compete with Kansas State on Saturday. Should be fun!

Kim hit the nail on the head when she said after the game that the team didn't rotate the ball well or make the skip pass. The guard play tonight really suffered and caused the melt down in the first half. Very sloppy. Not taking anthing from Colorado. Things just went their way. Alot of it they created, but too much of it wasn't.
I knew the score would not be really high and I feel that Baylor could have won by 9 as I predicted if they played the first half the way they played the second. The box score shows only 18 turn overs, it felt like a whole lot more.
I hope to see Sophia play more around the basket on offense rather than the small forward position. Her strength is in the inside rebounding and scoring. She can go up and over ANYBODY! I think her numbers thus far reflect the fact that she is playing a different position than last year.
Dionne Brown played 13 minutes and did not score a single point.
Be sure and put the name Wanda Szeremeta on your officials to watch out far. She stunk up the place for both teams.

Hats off to the Colorado Buffaloes. They played a well-balanced, poised ballgame on the road against the Lady Bears. There was no panic when Baylor made a run, cutting the 20 point half-time deficit down to 6. Sure hope a different Baylor basketball team shows up at College Station this Saturday. Very disappointing first half performance by the good guys.
I think ragging on the officials is done in poor taste. A fan will never see a perfectly-called basketball game. There were Baylor fans riding the ref when the call was obviously correct. Some calls were questionable, but that's true in practically every game played.
Congrats to Colorado for taking a key win while playing on the road.

I saw a GREAT game in Stillwater tonight. Some on here predicted the difference would be Skibbe. It almost ended up being A&M saying, 'We have D'Nika Romero and they didn't.' That girl absolutely lit the place up. If not for Nina Stone slashing through the lane for a layup with less than 10 seconds left, OSU loses.
I could tell both OSU and A&M are improved tonight, but I also worry that both are going to have trouble against any team not named Iowa State or Kansas.
So, you don't think they're going to have any trouble against Iowa State?

My compliments to the radio folks for UT,BU,KSU, and TAMU...I listened to pieces of them last night and they were all doing a first class job. No digging on the refs or the other team. I've listened to the UT broadcast before and they always do a good job and the ISU guys are good too. Course I'm partial to Ryan Hyatt but it's great to know that other broadcast teams are equally as classy

I don't always word these types of statements perfect. What I meant to say was basically this -- for OSU or A&M to beat ANYONE in the conference other than each other, Iowa State or Kansas, I think they will need to play EXTREMELY well. I think these four teams are roughly equal, and basically could each beat each other on any given night.
Does that sound less like I'm dissing anyone, because I really don't mean to be.

I knew that, but it was an opening for some irony I couldn't resist, sorry http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/biggrin.gif. On this board, we substitute "irony" for smack; much more high-class.
