Any friendly advice on how to get 3 decent tickets to this Saturday's Horn/Bear game in Austin? Ticket office has mez. seats --- ?are these upper deck/nosebleed?

Scalpers for good women's tickets?

Is the student seating for women's games as screwed up as it seems to be for the men's? (see hornfans.com)

Why is it no longer called "the Drum?"

I think the Mezzanine is lower deck.

Now what number should I call for tickets to The UT Baylor game in Waco?

I don't know why it isn't called the Drum any more. We sat in student seating for my daughters b-day party in Dec and the seats were fine.

I think the mezzanine seats are the nosebleed section. There is a good set of seats reserved for opposing teams' fans behind their bench. They may be sold out, but the student section close to the band would be close to them.

Let me know if you have trouble tracking down tickets and I'll see what I can do to help.

Do you know if there are still seats available for the Baylor UT game in Baylor?

Ferrell Center tickets are still available for the Feb. 16th game vs UT. I just checked and was amazed that VERY GOOD seats are still open.

The ticket office # is 254-710-1000, but tickets can be purchased online at gobaylorbears.com. Just hit the Baylor link on this home page, hit "official site", hit tickets, and set up an account by following directions there. This is the reccommended way; you can select the preferred section (if not sold out)by clicking on the seating chart. Unbelievably, as of 4:10 today, seats were available in section 101, row 19 (centercourt).

Now about that help in obtaining FEC tickets . . . .

Bear Skin,

The last two years that I've gone to the BU-UT game in Austin,
walk-up tickets weren't a problem. They had most of the BU fans in the mezzanine section (the top of the lower deck) kind of in the corner, but not really bad seats. I think after looking at their seating chart it is section 32 or 33. But they've reconfigured the Drum somewhat so this year, so who knows. You can probably buy tickets for anywhere and easily find a blank seat in the Baylor section.

As for the BU ticket office, call 254-710-1000 or 1-800-BAYLORU.

Here's the deal...

The mezzanine is the upper deck (i.e., nosebleed). There is no reason that anyone should have to sit up there at the women's games because I have yet to see the arena level (lower level) filled since I was a student there in the late 80's. I have never had a problem getting walk-up tickets in the arena on gameday in recent years. In fact, according to the ticket info on the texassports.com site, the mezzanine is not supposed to be opened up until the arena is 80% sold out.

Purchasing a ticket at the gate on gameday should not be a problem (at least it had better not since that's what I'll be doing). Just be sure to specify "arena level" to the ticket seller. Now, once you have specified arena level, this year there are several options:

General admission: $5 all seats - usually behind the baskets or "end zones".
Reserved: $9 - adult; $8 youth and senior citizen - basically near the corners of the court.
PRIME Reserved: $10 all seats - center court area.

Attendance has been generally down this year, but with this being a Saturday game and with our recent success, I don't know how fast the seating will fill up. I was able to get PRIME Reserved seats for both the LSU and Iowa State games (both during the week) at the gate just prior to the games with no problem.

Hope this helps.

Bevo,

I have 6 tickets almost at center court ROW 10 for the game Saturday in Austin. It is possible that I may have one or two extra and two people may have to back out. It looks pretty good that I will have at least one. You would be welcome to it. E-mail me with a way to get hold of you if you are interested. Sorry, Baylor fans, I just can't sit next to anyone not yelling for my Horns.

Thanks for the offer, Bobcat, but I'll be there with my wife and kids and possibly some other family that may meet us there. Hope the arena is filled with burnt orange tomorrow!
