View Full Version : Texas/Missouri
Down by ten at one point and with 14 turnovers in the first half (yuck), the Horns roar back to take a 5 point lead at the half. Kala Bowers has the hot hand for the 'Horns. Kenya Larkin hits a mid-court heave at the halftime buzzer for her first 3-pointer of the year. Take 'em any way you can get 'em, Kenya!
Wish I could be there tonight!
Go Horns!
Conradt must have had some words for the team at the half. They are on fire! Already up by 12 in the second half.

Way to go Horns!!!! 73-51 My only regret of the game is that Coach Conradt has no thoughts of her bench players. Why did we not see Dana Godfrey or Jody Bell on the court? I have been to practice and these girls work very hard and deserve a little play time. Come on Coach have a heart!!!!!

Not happening tonight, KSUron. Texas runs away with it, 73-51.
Kala Bowers gets her first career double-double. She has really come on strong in the last week. The future is now for the Longhorns with the freshmen Schreiber and Bowers and the Soph Stephens. Mix in the experience of Cook and Larkin and special things are happening in Austin. Oh, btw, Cook killed yet another Hoopla session for me, but oh, well. I'll take the wins any day!
I'll be interested to hear the perspectives of those at the game. And for the next 24 hours, we get to enjoy 1st place in the Big XII!! Hook 'em!

Wow!!!!! Texas blows out Missouri in the second half. What a game for Bowers. Can you say she has finally come out. What a player. With Bowers, Schreiber, Stephens, Hastings, we have a lot to look forward to. Way to go Horns. I will be in Austin for the game against Baylor on Saturday.

I know what you mean Bevo. I got a few hours in as a fan of the only undefeated team in the Big 12. Oh well, Missouri didn't lose, they just ran out of time.
Good Job Horns. They really stormed back after a slow start.

Say Bevo, you folks are known for your hospitality. Surely you don't mean to treat my nice Kansas State girls that way when they come down for a visit?

Just got back from the game and it was great. I too was dissapointed that we didn't see more of the bench, but we did see Williams in the last minutes and she scored two and sunk the free throw on the fould.
I don't know what happened to Cook though. Jody kept her out for a lot of the game and she didn't take many shoots when she was on the floor - she didn't seem to be on.
The play was fun, but we still threw away the ball way too much. We also went through long spells of not shooting.
The future looks really good ...

Tracy Cook looked like she was sick or something. She really was not herself. It seems to me like it would be easier to start playing well at the beginning of the game instead of after you've spotted your opponent 10 points or so but what do I know? Bowers was really amazing. She was moving well with and w/o the ball. She has a beautiful shot.
I think Texas needed to practice what they saw in OU on Saturday. After the OU game, Conradt talked about OU (1) taking advantage of the other team's errors and (2) putting the dagger in the other team early whenever they have the opportunity instead of waiting until they are behind. Even so, Texas got a little sloppy after going up by 20. Conradt had to call a timeout and refocus the team.
Natalie Bright (I think it was Bright) went down and came up with blood over her eye. I don't know how she went down. I hope she is alright.

carolann.....I can't tell you how many times I've seen OU do this very same thing this year.

We'll do everything we can to make sure KSU's visit is a 'memorable' one! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif I am really excited about that matchup. But first, there is some business to be transacted with the folks from Waco.

It definitely was Natalie Bright, #32, that went down hard. It seemed as though when she fell, it was face down onto the court. I was so sorry to see it happen; it had to hurt. Can anyone out there update us on her condition? I can't find a thing anywhere else. I'm hoping that it's not too serious, as she sat out the remainder of the game on the bench with an ice pack to her face. She has my admiration.
