Baylor romps to a 95 to 61 victory.

The officials in the BIG 12 SUCK!!!
Pardon my French.

Is there anyone on this board who does not have a problem with the quality of the officiating?

Baylor scored 36 points at the line. Not once did the game develop a flow to it. A whistle blew every 30 seconds!!!!!

My Hoopla stinks because the starters only played a short while.

You talk about flow? There was absolutely NO FLOW in the Tech/OSU game tonight. Whistle, whistle, whistle, whistle...I could go on and on. The crowd even tried to get into the game and the officials would shut us up with another whistle. It stunk.

Now the officiating was horrible this time. I now know why OSU has been forcing their opponents into more fouls than they give up. They just barrel into the lane uncontrollably only to get a kind call from a blonde haired official (no offense against blondes). Tonight the guard play was WAAAAAAAY to physical, WAY! The OSU guards would hammer our guards up running through our screens and "hipping" the player with the ball. We get on the defensive end and we get hand checking fouls. It just pained me to watch what was happening tonight at the USA. The game actually got boring because th REFS dictated the flow of the game. The BIG XII needs to do something about the officals and quick!

and to make things worse......"things" being how we all feel about the officials.......did ya'll know that they make about $700 a game plus expenses?

Unreal!!

I thought I heard ISU's announcer say during the game that the big12 head of officals was at the Colorado/Iowa State game. Maybe they had a resprentative at all the games. We can hope not that it would help.

The head of officials for the Big 12 couldn't manage a DAIRY QUEEN!!!!!!!

OK--- now somebody has said it.

Maybe we should all hire Mark Cuban to consult on the best way to achieve improved and accountable official review.

Actually, this continued ranting is like the war on drugs and now terrorism. They will never end nor truly accomplish the desired result. IMO the ref's although bad, are equally bad for both teams, therefore don't impact the result of the game. I truly doubt if our continuing rants will accomplish anything.

Please note the overriding sarcastic tone of this post...

Iowa State fans have a long and proud history of blaming officials for losses. Many of us will go to our graves insisting that we actually won the Independence Bowl this year because the official called a good field goal wide right.

Also, everyone within a fifty mile radius of Ames knows that Marcus Fizer, Jamal Tinsley and friends would have won a national championship a couple years back if the officials hadn't blown a call handing the game in the Elite 8 to Michigan State.

AFter watching on TV as the men's team was robbed of a national title, I walked from my hotel to Memorial in KC to watch the women lose to Penn State in the Sweet 16. The officiating in that game was.....well, you get the point! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Go State!

Sarcasm aside....

Does anyone think that the poor level of officiating in the Big 12 is part of our "Final Four" problem? Are officials elsewhere better than what we have in the Big 12? Do we get so used to playing with poor officiating during the year, that we can't adjust to a properly called game in the tourney? Just food for thought!

You of course mean, "blown several calls"... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif Never bring this game up around ISU fans. Most of us would like to forget it.

I was at the ISU WBB pregame party across the street from Memorial. They had several projectors showing the MBB game. There were a lot of unhappy campers in that room at the end of that game. We then went across the street to a very poorly officiated game vs. Penn State. Neither team could keep their post players out of foul trouble. I don't think the bad calls really favored either team. This may be the closest any Big XII team has ever come to the Final Four; ISU lost on a last-second shot to PSU, who blew out La. Tech in the next game to get there.

The horrible officiating in the Big 12 may not favor one team over another, but it does have an effect on our conference. It is frustrating and changes the flow of the play ... often making what should be a GREAT game a stop n start, slow game. I've taken several groups of people to games over the years who then thought this was the women's game and not bad officiating.
I do think it is up to the fans to put pressure on the officials to get on the same page.
