KU put up a good battle in this game and came back to 33 to 30 at the half. KSU made one of their runs to start the second half and that was more or less the end of things, altough KU never did quit. They got as close as 7 with a couple of minutes to go. They put up a a better fight than I expected.

It was a game of runs with KU having runs of 8-0 and 11-0 and KSU having runs of 13-2 and 15-0.

Wecker was 3-3 from three land and had 23 points and 9 rebounds. Koehn went 5-7 of threes and 21 points. Ohlde had 15 points. The attendance was under 9,000. I haven't seen a good box score yet but the bench played a lot more in this one than they have recently.

Marion Washington subbed players in in waves. She got a technical which was also notable in that Koehn missed both foul shots. Go figure? I hope Coach Washington survives the season. She looked to be very upset with how things went. The new KU AD, Al Bohl, has said that he has told all his coaches that their teams are either top 25 or will be. Ouch! On the other hand I hear she got a new contract before the season. Again I hope she gets a little more time. I do think that she got everything out of her players that they had to give.
