a ho-hum kind of game...how in the heck did we end up with all these 200something RPI teams on our schedule?....oh yea, we owed them a home game.

Caton was in form....she getting ready for you all in the Big XII..finished with 23 points and 10 boards...had 17 points in the first half and 7 boards. Got to sit a little in the second half....

Lauren Shoush finished with 18 points.......who is Lauren Shoush you ask? This is the second game in a row that she has put up double figures in scoring. Good to see her shots falling, she has always had great potential, a little wild looking at times...

Maria V didn't play as much since Lauren was playing so well..
but Maria did finish out the game and was in double figures with 15 points and 4 rebounds.

You could hear the MSU fans heckling in the background...
and why must our little women's basketball team be subjected to the wild and wooly way's of the football team...
this is the Commander Coale Crew that you played not the Stoops Troops.

There was a nice interview w/ Caton on 1520 at halftime. She talked about the chemistry of the '02 team as compared to this one, and also about how she's kind of taken Beky Preston under her wing.

Score was 90-59 (need to work on defense)

Sooners have a new technique this year... play the patsies on the road, and the name teams at home.

Hey, Montana State was 5-2!

Next up on Saturday, AT 0-6 Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches. Then Tennessee, Illinois, and Wichita State at home to complete the non-conference schedule.

Interesting...11 3-pointers from 5 different people; none of whom were Erin Higgins (who came in shooting 50% from downtown).

I don't think anyone will use a box-and-one on us this year.

Well, maybe a triangle-and-two, but don't figure on Iowa State giving up on their matchup zone. With ten fouls to give in the post this season Iowa State can afford to play their zone a bit more aggressively, and won't sag and help as much as they did to protect Angie Welle.

That's a shame. SFA once had a great program and could hang with darn near anyone, for such a small school. A number of fine young coaches emerged from SFA. Blair did a great job there and it was sad to see that program hit the skids when the NCAA busted them a few years ago.
Here's hoping they can become competitive again under Lee Ann Riley.
