Jerry Palm's first bracket prediction is up, here (http://hoopscoop.net/big12wbb/bracket.cgi?url=http://www.collegerpi.com/women/02/ncaaguess.html).
Interesting....OU #1 in the midwest with a trip to Ames in the Sweet 16. ISU is #6 in the midwest and has to go through Minnesota before getting a chance to go home for the Sweet 16.

I posted this to the WBBALL-L email list:
That would be interesting in so many ways. ISU fans take I-35 south in droves for the Big XII tournament, so you can imagine how many would go a shorter distance north on I-35 for the NCAA tournament. Also, it would feature Coach Oldfield against the man she assisted under during Iowa State's rise to national prominence: Bill Fennelly. If ISU doesn't host (and they'll have to start playing better than they are now if they want to), this would be a great alternative.
I feel pretty sure that neither Oldfield nor Fennelly would welcome this seeding, and I wouldn't look forward to it either. Fennelly has said that it's not very comfortable facing your former assistants, and Vandy's Foster has made the same sort of comments. With so much on the line I'd imagine both coaches would rather not have that extra element to deal with. Palm is pretty reliable, but I hope he's got ISU seeded too low.

I would love to see OU take a trip through Ames....and play someone other than Iowa State, we might actually win in that building.... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
With so many assistants spread throughout various D1 programs, not sure you could help bumping into one...and playing against their current team. Pretty sure that is one "tangible" that the tourney committee doesn't consider when seeding.

Ooo, that East looks pretty rank to me.

noticed in the projections that all the "male coaches" are in the east......Geno, Barmore and Jim Foster....seems I've heard or read that some believe it is a conspiracy http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
Note: Landers of Georgia is predicted to be in the West. Some believe that the male coaches thing is a conspiracy, other ignore it as no big deal.

8 teams from the Big 12? I don't see it. 5 or 6 will be the final standing.
5 teams from the Big East? Only if the committee is drinking that Ripple during the selection process.
